  4. We allow staff direct access out as the Bloxx filter can get slow at times, and we use local profiles with redirection as the performance is much better, especially on wireless!
  5. We used to have a problem with students pulling out network cables which stopped the user GPO from running, thus bypassing the proxy. To fix this we set the proxy in the computer policy, like this: Set the proxy details in the GPO that is applied to the testbed pc's (in User configuration -> windows settings -> internet explorer maintenance). In the same policy, locate Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> System -> Group Policy and enable the Loopback Policy. Set the mode to 'merge'. If there are conflictions, the policies in Computer configuration will take precedent as they are applied last.
  6. Sorry, should have mentioned this!! Key stage 3 and 4. Thanks for the replies so far. Chris.
  7. Hi all, I have been given the task of investigating new ways in which ICT can be used in the classroom. The main aim is to obviously increase grades through engaging the students using ICT. Can anyone recommend some curriculum software that has really made a difference to your students learning experience? A short explanation explaining how would be great too! Maths and Science are the main area we are focussing on, but all subject areas are being looked at. We will also be looking into hardware, but I will post that in the hardware forum! Many thanks, Chris.
  8. Hi everyone, I'm Chris, and I work as a network engineer at the John Madejski Academy in Reading!
