witch Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 My daughter is doing a degree in Product Design Engineering and needs responses to this survey please. Need to know about how space can be an issue for small city housing. Modern Professional City Living Survey She is also looking for a youngish professional (that's us.I think) who lives in a city (or big town) and who will agree to talk to her group, take some pics and talk about daily routine and issues faced. PM me if interested please fill the survey in though - anyone who lives in a city will do! thanks
witch Posted October 5, 2012 Author Posted October 5, 2012 Done - define: youngish (!) Also, where? A. Oh, you're young enough @Netman ! Where doesnt really matter- the point is that if you are living in an urban environment space is often at a premium - and the UK has the smallest houses in the world apparently!
witch Posted October 5, 2012 Author Posted October 5, 2012 Come on -how about you, @Domino? Or anyone living anywhere including but not limited to London,Brum, Bristol,Edinburgh, Glasgow, York, Manchester,Sheffield, Liverpool, Nottingham, Stafford, Leicester, Plymouth, Exeter, Poole, Bournemouth, Brighton, etc etc etc etc ANYWHERE VAGUELY CITY-ISH!!!!
Domino Posted October 5, 2012 Posted October 5, 2012 Survey done - I can talk to whoever. However I'm not particularly space constrained.... 1
witch Posted October 5, 2012 Author Posted October 5, 2012 @Domino-not actually sure what she needs-will ask
witch Posted October 6, 2012 Author Posted October 6, 2012 There must be some of you living in shoeboxes? Doesnt matter where - she needs to talk to people who have to close a door before being able to open a cupboard type thing... On what we earn you cant all be living in mansions...
sted Posted October 6, 2012 Posted October 6, 2012 (edited) There must be some of you living in shoeboxes? So presumably you want someone in a new build where the bedroom fits a bed wardrobe and thats it Edited October 6, 2012 by sted
witch Posted October 6, 2012 Author Posted October 6, 2012 So presumably you want someone in a new build where the bedroom fits a bed wardrobe and thats it That would be a good example but many house conversions into flats, maisonettes and the like are small and cramped, too.
witch Posted October 8, 2012 Author Posted October 8, 2012 Please can anyone fill it in - she needs to display more responses! Thanks
RabbieBurns Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 I filled it in, not sure if it was just for UK cities but I did it anyway
pcstru Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Done (not sure I really live in a city or large town, but err ... sort of close). 1
sidewinder Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Done the survey, live in London in a flat shared with my girlfriend and another couple, although it's fairly spacious compared to some places. We pay for that privilege though 1
SteveT Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 ...... and those of us living in rural areas live in large mansions with loads of room?????
arwen Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Done. I like in a flat share, but as its an old tenement, its got high ceilings and is pretty spacious compared to most of the new build houses/flats I have been in. 1
AMLinington Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 I was going to fill it in, but realised that my house doesn't really come under the city living requirements and 'Semi-detatched' wasn't an option. Sorry. I suppose I would be classed as 'suburban'... 1
mossj88 Posted October 8, 2012 Posted October 8, 2012 Tried to fill it in but realized that it didn't ask if I share the house with my partner/son which obviously effects space..
witch Posted October 8, 2012 Author Posted October 8, 2012 Doesnt matter @mossj88 - please fill it in anyway. Are you particularly short of space?
