Anyone know where I can get an EduGeek mug from ??

I'm always getting blamed for leaving cups laid around ( i must point out it's not me) because we all have the same ones - I want mine to stand out and people will know then that it is MINE! I wash my cup, and look after it well - I've had the same one for a year and a half and would LOVE an Edugeek mug I'd know and everyone else will know that it is NOT me thats leaving mugs laid around!!

Anyone got any they could send over ?

Cheers :)

You get them from the BETT show. I currently have one, I asked wITch very nicely to get mine.

My personal mug was painted for me by my nephew in 2006, aged 2. It has my name on it and you cant miss it. Nick one from the kitchen cupboard at home for now, and put it on your Xmas list!

But, on the other hand, if enough people were to put their hand in their pockets in advance, do you think the powers that be would order up some merch? T-shirts and stuff...

Sounds like a plan...... I'd go for that!

Random question and a bit off topic but if i sent out Millgate merchandise, would that be any good? I've been toying with the idea of getting some made.

I know some companies send it out so i thought i'd ask

Well, the best people I've ever met for free stuff has been Yamaha Commercial Audio, whose merch pack is a mug, a sticker sheet, a baseball t-shirt, a lanyard, a nice pen, a leatherette pad holder and pad, a cap, a waterproof jacket and an umbrella. But we did have to spend nearly 100k with them in one go to get that pack x 10

So, any and all of the above is cool!

A merchandise store is something we are quite keen to do, however we are not too keen to have it done via one of the online stores such as Cafe Press etc. a sthe ones we get made up are of far higher quality whilst being the same price or cheaper (usually). As our current office, is, how shall I put it, 'snug'. We would need somewhere a bit larger to do it from. But don't worry, we do have this down for something we really want to do, however the practicalities of our current situation are not yet as we need them to be to do such a thing. You should see the place when we get all of the BETT freebies in! I have to walk in sideways!

All I can say is 'Watch this space'.

EduGeek branded BOHF certified low-voltage non-lethal user pacification stick? :)

Perhaps not... However a set of edugeek motivational posters along the lines of the think geek tshirts, you know, "PEBCAK" and "I'm sorry, I can't fix 'stupid', just computers" "I'm only here because you break stuff" and "talk to the chair, the face is coding" "We are not really people people" etc.

I prefer "PICNIC" or "Layer 8 Failure"

What kind of free sh*t though???? Just the usual mugs, pens etc????

I'd aim for "emergency sysadmin tools that'll do in a pinch and we'll keep in the toolbox / desk / pocket because they're useful". And make sure the printing's durable enough to survive use.

For example (freebies I've had in the past that are still around):

- Branded Swiss Card with modified tools for poking dodgy punchdowns to life.

- Loopback tester

- Penlight with a fibre-optic attachment with bayonet connector on the end for doing basic fibre identification.

- USB to random other USB adaptor kit that was stackable (so you could build bizarro connectors rather than keeping a stash of wierd cables).

- Set of anti-static picks and spudgers for dismantling plastic casework and prodding the internals of hardware.
