Yes the demo site.

OK that makes sense, what we have found is that Local Authorities and some schools run proxy caching which does not pull down the scripts correctly for the helpdesk, the only way around this is to run the site in SSL (https) mode which the demo helpdesk is not setup for.

I have just logged onto a school remotely that uses thier own internet connection and does not use caching and the live chat loads instantly :)

Seems to be an issue when trying to close a call with the latest BETA.

My onsite version throws and error as does the online demo.

Looking at the error you have just emailed me I would assume that you tried to close a call that is not assigned to anyone therefore you clicked on the link "close call" and not the tab post reply and tick the close call checkbox, would that be correct?

That is indeed the cause of the issue.

Ben

Yeah forgot to remove the link in the last BETA release, will sort out for tonight's release.

NOTE TO ALL BETA TESTERS.

An email has been sent to you all with the web address of a private BETA testers forum which has been setup for you to use.

Please do not use this thread for dicussions about beta versions of the software as it is causing confusion with ordinary users about the stability of the software.

BETA software is just that, BETA, and will contain bugs as this is the nature of things and is part of the test - fix - test process. Please do not confuse this with stable production ready software which is all that we release out to end users. ;)

Thanks for your understanding.

Sorry Ozan. I think it was me that started talking about the BETA, because a lot of the fixes, were things we discovered and discussed / troubleshot here.

Consider my wrist slapped.

No need to be sorry, I am as guilty as anyone else. :)

I think it will make sense to seperate the 2 discussions in order to remove any possible confusion.

Hi Ozan,

My managers said he's tried emailing/using a support ticket but hasn't had a reply so thought i'd ask you on here:

He wants to create a report of all the closed tickets dating right back to when the helpdesk was setup but apparently he can only do that with up to 30 or so tickets, is it possible to have this implemented in the future?

Okay, i think it's okay to post this here as it's not a BETA issue, and i'm not sure it's a proper issue, so just up for discussion.

Today was logged in as a normal user (i'll call her Alice) and on log off got this error:

Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

Source Error:

An unhandled exception was generated during the execution of the current web request. Information regarding the origin and location of the exception can be identified using the exception stack trace below.

Stack Trace:

[NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.] OPSD.tester.Page_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e) +2289 System.Web.UI.Control.OnLoad(EventArgs e) +99 System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() +50 System.Web.UI.Control.LoadRecursive() +141 System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint) +627

After which, just to be awkward, i did something i shouldn't. I took an email from the helpdesk, directed at another user (Bob) and clicked on the link at the bottom.

Lo and behold, i could see the full details of the call and all the history, while it said i was still logged in as Alice. :s

Very strange.

So i log off again, no problems this time. Clear cookies, then hit the magic button on Bob's email, and when asked to login, login in as Alice. I can see all the gory details of Bob's stupidity.

Can someone pls confirm it's not just an issue with me, Alice and Bob. Feel free to use Sue and Rita as your test cases...and Bob too if you must.

Edit: Rita just updated Sue's ticket :(

Vik: When you logged off had you first clicked on new incident?

If you are in the new incident screen and you hit logoff you will get this error.
