Edu-IT Posted June 6, 2011 Posted June 6, 2011 That sounds outstandingly, staggeringly awesome Wish i had time to test, but had a major SIMS malfunction today. BETA isn't out yet, so you're not missing out. :-) Plenty of time to play!
ICTNUT Posted June 7, 2011 Author Posted June 7, 2011 BETA is out BETA Testers can get it from here: OP SmartDesk Forums There is alot to test in this one so time to get your heads down As usual let us know how you get on in the testers forum. 1
dfergusson Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 We just started to make use of the asset management, was thinking what would be nice is being able to add notes to each item.
vikpaw Posted June 10, 2011 Posted June 10, 2011 We just started to make use of the asset management, was thinking what would be nice is being able to add notes to each item. You can add it here as a tweak request My View - OP Software Issue Tracker 1
ICTNUT Posted June 10, 2011 Author Posted June 10, 2011 We just started to make use of the asset management, was thinking what would be nice is being able to add notes to each item. Yeah this has been asked by a few people already and has been added for inclusion in the Sept 2011 release.
Tricks Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 2 week timetable and revamped room booker will be in next BETA after todays release. Sorry if this has already been asked, but will there be a limit on how far into the future rooms will be bookable?
vikpaw Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 What would be good, but maybe a bit more complex so further down the line is to set a room/resource as 'needs authorisation'. So a booking request is emailed to someone and they click the link, view the details and tick confirmed.
plexer Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Sorry if this has already been asked, but will there be a limit on how far into the future rooms will be bookable? I don't know but I would expect this to be in place and be user configurable. Ben

vikpaw Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 Like this idea Thanks. the 'needs auth' is part of our current workflow, so would be useful to replicate. It's an extension on having resource managers / super users who can alter anyone's bookings, which i think is already part of the plan.

Edu-IT Posted June 21, 2011 Posted June 21, 2011 What would be great is to have staff tagged to a department and limit their department bookings. For example, the ICT department can only have 10 ICT slots, and these users can book them. Once that limit is reached they're told to jog on. ;-)

ICTNUT Posted July 13, 2011 Author Posted July 13, 2011 How do you link an asset to support call? You cannot at the moment, this link was broken in the last update to make way for some changes to the asset manager itself. The link is restored back in the Sept 2011 release. 1
randle Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Any update on the next release date? Has been awfully quiet lately!!
Edu-IT Posted September 27, 2011 Posted September 27, 2011 Any update on the next release date? Has been awfully quiet lately!! Roadmap says October 2011. To make up for the quietness, let me tell you, it's going to be a good one! :-) http://tracker.opsmartdesk.com/roadmap_page.php 1
ICTNUT Posted September 27, 2011 Author Posted September 27, 2011 Any update on the next release date? Has been awfully quiet lately!! As Edu-IT has pointed out it is slated for October 2011 and is pretty much on course for the release. Printer Stock Control and remote management is in New more intuative and streamlined interface is in More Asset management features are in Room / resource booking (with support for 2 week timetables) in almost in, final testing now being carried out onsite with BETA schools New Network Management tools are in and much more. Yes it been quiet but its also been busy
K.C.Leblanc Posted September 30, 2011 Posted September 30, 2011 On a scale 1 to impossible. Can MLH 1.0.1007 be made to work on Server 2008R2?
ICTNUT Posted September 30, 2011 Author Posted September 30, 2011 On a scale 1 to impossible. Can MLH 1.0.1007 be made to work on Server 2008R2? There is nothing special about the MLH database so it will run on SQL 2000 upto 2008R2. The only issue you WILL have is if the database in on a different serverv than the MLH website, you will then need to enable remote connections on the SQL Server - This will help with that: OP Software Support Centre :: Knowledge Base
ICTNUT Posted October 1, 2011 Author Posted October 1, 2011 Are we close to a release? :-D Yeah we are, just tweaking the Room Booker and we are good to go, should be a day or two at the most.
vikpaw Posted October 1, 2011 Posted October 1, 2011 Does it have single sign on yet? That would be great alongside the room booker. Also hoping to see some more stats - now we're using it more, people want to run off stats on how many calls we get, average time for closure etc. I still need to get the pop3 working.

Single sign on is on the roadmap but has not been added to this release as other things have taken priority. There are lots more stats including average response times, calls opened, calls closed, users online etc. What have you not been able to get working with POP3? There is nothing really to setup other provide a username, password, and server name for the POP3 server.
