NikChillin Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 Hi all, We seem to have a problem with a new projector, it has started to project a strong yellow hue, anyone got any ideas? All I can find out is that it might be the polarizer.

Nothing thats the thing - are going to be looking at warranty replace over the summer holiday though. Will update the thread if we hear anything solid on it, crazy thing is the projectors are less than a year old.

themightymrp Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 It could be the polarizer. If it is a new projector then def warranty time. It could also be something as daft as a broken pin on the VGA cable or a bulb needing replacing. All of our projectors are NEC and we have seen the colour hue thing a number of times
Oaktech Posted July 13, 2012 Posted July 13, 2012 if its got a warranty cash in on it, if it doesn't start making out purchase orders. It will almost certainly be LCD degradation, or a UV burn from the lamp, but it may be a dieing lamp. Lamps get progressively more yellow as the rare metals in the lamp get used up, try another lamp from a non yellow projector and see what gives. Chances are however that there is nothing you can do about it.

Happens often enough round here... Just checked it and it seems to be the 10 mtr vga cable that just happens to run along the very... high... ceiling! Summer hols job methinks!
