Hi everybody,

I have a classroom with a HDTV. I have been hooking up a laptop, via HDMI cable, to view DVD/BD's and web content (YouTube or live streaming through a website). The thing is I am now after something more permanent and static, but without taking up too much space, or breaking the bank. So I don't want an all-singing-all-dancing full sized tower PC, and wondered what people might be using that's nice and small, but powerful enough to stream video from the internet onto a HDTV?

Thanks

Glenn

We run our plasma display screens with low-power mini-ITX boards. They're passively cooled and boot from flash drives, so no moving parts to wear out. All but the cheapest have DVI and/or HDMI outputs now too.

+1 for a Zotac Zbox - Mini ITX form factor - get the version with the AMD E-350 processor and put in your choice of HDD/SSD, RAM and Windows OEM sticker - can build them for less than £300 if you have a 2.5" HDD lying around.
