Are there dodgy sites that stream matches? A bar I use in Portugal for its free wifi, often has a laptop connected to the tv screen.

There are LOADS of sites!

Because the Premier League is watched around the world, you can find a feed of practically EVERY game. I may have watched a few QPR matches, that way, this season.....although it hasn't made good viewing!!!

Iraqgoals used to be a good one, and they generally have english commentators and summarisers....which is always good for a "Where are they now" spot!

Thanks. I don't want to watch it, I hate football and it drives me mad that every bar has 24 hour football at max volume.

So why the need to comment on a thread that holds no interest for you?

I've never understood that..... There are 70,000+ threads, and you come to one that you have no interest in???

Anyway, you can blame SKY for that....not football in general.

Back in the olden times, ALL games started at 3pm on a saturday... Match of the Day had 1 main game and 2 for highlights.....and football was much better for it..... IMO!!!

The thread interests me, as does the technology. I just didn't want anyone thinking I wanted to know where to find these sites. However, if cricket and swimming is available, I might take a look. Sorry if I upset you?

Nah...not upset...just amazed at the amount of times people (not necessarily you) join threads about football, just to say they don't like it!

Anyway....the same DOES apply for Cricket...which is especially useful for the Ashes downunder, and England on the sub-continent!

I'll never pay Sky!

My father owns a pub....SKY used to cost just over £1000 a month! Until we found otherways around it.....so daft.

Sky in pubs is something like 5/6k a year. I'm not surprised that people use the other ways around it!

Sky have finally woken up to the fact they were ripping people off as they have heavily discounted the price from £600+ to ~£290 per month

Wiziwig.tv | Free Live Sports Streams on your PC. Watch Live Football, MLB, NBA, NHL, NFL and more... is what i use, i have sopcast installed as the streames are normally better. must point out though that i pay for both sky sports and espn, its the the games that dont make tv that i end up streaming :)

That's what I use. My advice is to be careful of where you install sopcast from. Many of these streams ask you to download the plug in only for it to fill your pc full of adverts!

The problem now is that as the court ruled that graphics etc are copyright of the Premier League, they will probably increase the amount of these that are applied to the feeds to other countries, so people watching over here will be done for copyright infringement.

I'd just like to say this pub is a local for me and this has been one of the funniest stories of recent times! PL have shot themselves in the foot but making this so high profile!

lol, a pub I have been in recently had actual electrical tape on its screens to "remove" the copyrighted logos off the screens of what they were playing which I found funny. I am glad this case went ahead and the result was in favour of the little guy on this one, its been a horrible monopoly for years with no competitive pricing at all (cable prices usually echo that of satellite) copied with even more ridiculous rules, such as no matches at 2:30 on a Saturday. About time we got to grips with these monopolistic practices.
