Jawloms Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 I've just been asked if I have a USB Sub station.
sonofsanta Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Explain that you did have, but thieves nicked all the copper earthing wire out of it and it's no longer safe to use
Jawloms Posted February 7, 2012 Author Posted February 7, 2012 Could be handy in a power cut!!! But presumably only if everything ran on 5V
Oaktech Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 well, you jest, but i can plug a laptop into our substation and use some energy monitor software to view our energy usage!
Michael Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 And what was this 'USB sub station' going to be used for? I am presuming they meant a USB hub?
tonyd Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 Maybe they meant this thing - Aquarius Submarine Shaped 58-in-1 USB 2.0 Hub/Card Reader/Bluetooth 2.0 Dongle - Black: Amazon.co.uk: Computers & Accessories, or maybe a dock yard for storing them in! 1

3s-gtech Posted February 7, 2012 Posted February 7, 2012 I'd guess they meant a hub. Or USB comes from Unterseeboot which would make their request rather more difficult. There may be some left in Norway.
Ex-MGSTech Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 You just HAVE to buy one of those and pass it to them!
sted Posted February 8, 2012 Posted February 8, 2012 perhaps its a usb device that makes you sarnies at lunchtime?
