Hi there - just a brief note to tell those who know me, that I have FINALLY been discharged from hospital after 24 weeks of incarceration. Its not a few months that I would care to go through again (and Christmas Day in hospital is nothing like the Carry On films woulsd have you believe - not a mini skirted, tinsel bedecked, mistletoe carrying nurse to be seen) and I'm still doing the zimmer zombie shuffle - but I'm free, I tell you, FREE!

The only thing that still sticks in the craw is that I had resigned from my job just before I went ill - so missed out on months of sick pay - Grrr!

Anyway - I shall lurk about on here making some inane comments from time to time - Cheers

Welcome back - I missed what was wrong...

Gareth

A perforation of the small bowel. The op wasn't that big - but my body objected to it leading to weeks in intensive care (complete with scary hallucinations) and then respiratory failure - oh happy day... Now I'm just b*ggered because of the muscle wastage from lying down for so long. Still - made it to the top of the stairs today - that is progress for me.

Cheers for the good wishes folks..

As you are an honorary life member of NetworkNorthants it would be lovely to see you at Abbeyfield next week ... or at any other future meetings, get togethers, ranting sessions, etc. Whenever you are ready mate ... just take it easy and you know where we all are if you or the family need anything.

Cheers Tony - I might well come along for the craich - but I'm not very mobile yet - I'll keep a look out when I'm free of the zimmer frame and am allowed to drive again. Ta.
