I'll be voting on my personal viewpoint and not on personality. Left of centre.. which gives me plenty of options! :D

I would never vote BNP. While I agree with a small minority of the things they say, I have no idea where they would draw the line. Some groups of people just go way too far and I think the BNP are one of these groups.

And as for the BNP - racist, misogynist and... words fail me.

Yep, sad to see a few here wanting to vote for them

Thankfully they normally do terribly in most areas

I dont view it as sad, I thought the idea of a democracy (not that strictly speaking we are a democracy anyway, but you get my point :) ) was to vote for the people who have policies that you agree with.

Hitlers Germany...

Well done, you've just fallen afoul of Godwins Law.

Hehe..sure I recall reading once that Hitler was the 2nd most searched for person on the internet. Ironically Jesus was first, or God..one of those 2

Oops.

I removed that little snippet of text anyway, but it looks like I was too late, people had seen it, haha.

Who mentioned Hitler? and anyway all arguement DO lead back to Hitler

Can I just point out to the people who are controlled by the tabloids, the BNP are not facists. Their policies are actually socialist, they are actually further to the left than the libdems and labour (well not hard that one, i think the conservatives atm are more left wing than labour).

Racist <> Facist

edit: aaaaaaahh Bat mentioned it, what did he say?

Doesn't that fall into the "I may disagree with what you have to say, but I shall defend, to the death, your right to say it" category?

I think it's what democracy is all about.

I'm not voting but I do agree if you don't vote you can't complain.

As for the BNP, I was at the petrol station yesterday filling up my new Leon Cupra (had to slip it in) and a bright red Astra van came in with megaphone on top and about 20 'Vote BNP' stickers all over it, was a right thug that got out.

As for their policies, some stuff I do like ie. the architectural things, but I'd never vote for them due to the racist attitudes. I live in Bradford and it's the racial diversity here that I love.

Voting for the BNP? You'll also love this site: http://www.redwatch.org.uk It's basically where you can read about and discuss anti-racist people and take action. Great...

Geoffs quote said everything that I said about it... I was the one that put the "..." in, not Geoff :p.

I was just trying to make a small point of how I see the BNP ending up eventually if they got into power. However, I thought it'd start an unnecessary debate, so I took it out.

but they aren't facist. if you'd said Stalin's Russia (he also did genocide) then youd have a point and wouldnt be raising godwin from his slumber

Funny survey though..BNP is level with Labour and not far behind Lib Dem...not sure what that tells us :)

Perhaps that Labour has gotten that poor a following, or that Techs are more inclined to have BNP leanings, or just that its too small a census amount. Either way, its a funny stat :)

It amazes me that people are voting with national pointers in their mind when in fact these are LOCAL elections.

Indeed!

Where I live, only the BNP has supported the cause to get a half way house for sex offenders closed down. This is the most important local issue. The sitting Labour candidate has said we can't do anything about it as it comes under the Home Office, the Liberal candidate has been very quiet on the issue and I think the Lib Dem bod said that they have to live somewhere. This is a moral dilema; do I vote for the BNP and be called a scum bag, or do I not vote and be called apathetic? Maybe I'll add a new candidate to the paper and vote for them.

Really? Id say that far right still essentially describes them.

Bear in mind as well whoever said think locally not nationally, that is what I am doing. A local BNP candidate had an interview in the paper. He was quoted as saying he was pleased there was only a small percentage of ethnic minorities in the area and when asked if the area would be better with less the answer was yes.

To me that is racist and I would be sickened if someone with that thinking got into power even locally.

Where does the BNP intend to put them then?
