Would have 'thirded' (I think I must made that up) but 2 people in the same day mentioned that it would be beneficial to have air con in my room. So fingers crossed Currently a tiny desk fan placed next to the open window to try and suck some fresh air in.

Pretty much the same as Russ - used to have a seperate server room, but we're losing it I'm now making the case that the excessive heat means that the servers are at risk of failing Air con here I come

we are measuring the room temp on tuesday got so hot that made me ill and had to have wednesday offf work..

Simular thing here, same day as well, told the boss that I was closing the IT office until the temperature subsided since it was an unreasonable working condition

My office is a cupboard so it dont really affect me lol as any amount of wind sweeps through the room like a wind tunnel.

 

Tis good for my babys (servers) tho - probably why they are lasting so long lol

 

Bloody froze when its not hot tho :(

I have two rooms *swaggers* LOL - the server room and my office next door which is going to have a hole through the wall for the monitor cable from the kvm. I'm vnc'ing on it all at the mo' coz' I had to make it look like I worked here [no smartass comments pls! ] so the refurb would be free .

My current server room is an unused lift shart. Temp was hitting 40-odd degrees today! I've had to keep turning a portable air-con unit on in there and blowing the hot air out of the door (not efficient and not secure).

 

My office is nice and cool though - North facing wall with an opening window!

 

Anyway, the server room will be moving as part of the huge summer project.

We have an ice cream van that comes inside the school grounds (legitimate) and parks just round the corner from the office!

Server room has an absolutely huge air con unit in there, keeps the place at 16C so i just pop in there when its too hot , problem is if u stay in there for more than 5 mins u get hypothermia
