Iain.Faulkner Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Morning all, Very general thing. I'm looking to replace a couple of our protable projector screens that get used fairly regularly when the school has meetings in areas that don't have a permanent solution in place (I've already asked and they won't let me put a permanent solution up). The two we have are quite literally falling apart, and as much as anything when we have them set up for parents evening it looks shoddy. I've done a bit of googling, but I've never heard of any of the companies, can anyone recommend anywhere? Can anyone recommend me a particular screen? Cheers Iain
Andrew_C Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 If you can still get them, Delta screens are good. No flimsy tripod, but there is a bit that could get lost. 1
MichaelJohnson Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Morning. We tend to use Sahara screens. There worth a look at anyway Mike 1
DAZZD88 Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 I think we bought some screens (3M I believe) and they were like your typical portable screens (the ones that wave from side to side) but very much sturdier. If that makes any sense. 1
Oaktech Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 depends how much/how big, i would look at DaLite Da-Lite Screen Company 1
LeeBirdptinstalls Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 As a company we use sahara or saphire. Very good quality and decent prices. 2
john Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 depends how much/how big, i would look at DaLite Da-Lite Screen Company Agree on Da-Lite they have been good for me, not the cheapest but seem to work well 1
steve Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 If you're looking for a supplier, I've used these before : Projector screens UK Plenty of info and prices on a selection of makes / models. 1
rad Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Thanks for this thread @Iain.Faulkner I will be watching with interest, my current one is taped together by duck tape, the legs fall apart, and are no use. I would like a permenant fixture but there are occasions when a portable is still needed.
dhicks Posted September 29, 2011 Posted September 29, 2011 Can anyone recommend me a particular screen? I prefer the pull-up type of projector screen that you pull up from a case that stands on the floor - no messing around with breakable-looking hooks and hinges. eBay seem to have a good selection, starting from around £100 - search for "pull up screen" to at least get the idea of the kind of thing I mean. They're not actually nearly as heavy as you might think (I can quite easily lift them one-handed) and only a bit longer than the fold-up type of screen. They are more stable than they first look, too, and don't end up bent to the left or right after a bit of use. 1
Iain.Faulkner Posted September 30, 2011 Author Posted September 30, 2011 Thanks for this thread @Iain.Faulkner I will be watching with interest, my current one is taped together by duck tape, the legs fall apart, and are no use. I would like a permenant fixture but there are occasions when a portable is still needed. That's pretty much the situation I find myself in :-) Thanks for all your responses, I'm going to get myself a Sahara screen, thanks to CPLTD for being so quick on the phone :-)
