Earthling Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 Minor milestone birthday yesterday and i think i can officially call myself a grown up....... Welcome to being 50. 1
TechMonkey Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 I love working out what a people are trying to say by the gifts you get Never be a grown up though, I hear it is quite boring. I'm going to skip it, keep being a young person until I get old. Young people and old people have all the fun. 1
Scifigirl Posted September 16, 2011 Author Posted September 16, 2011 Growing up without growing old is the trick! being a bit more mature- is always negated by a silly tshirt or laughing at someone falling over!
korifugi Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 While I cannot stop myself growing older (31 later this month), I certainly am trying not to grow up too much. Much more fun. 1
Earthling Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 Growing up without growing old is the trick! As it happens, had an interesting chat with my colleague technician here this morning, about holidays. A certain holiday I was looking at booking was fine, until I realised it was going to be a coach trip (a looong coach trip) with people mostly of my age.... I'm 59. I had to explain to him that I really don't have much in common with people of my own age-group and far prefer the company of younger people, or my own company. Growing up without growing old is the trick, but it's amazing how many people can't do it. 1
mthomas08 Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 Welcome to being 50. Some one beat me to it, Happy Birthday though. Not the type of gifts I would want but I am easy - Dont know what to get me? DRINK will do fine. 1

Scifigirl Posted September 16, 2011 Author Posted September 16, 2011 Has anyone noticed how mental age changes depending on who your with Line manager-- age appropriate-- unless your as bad as each other Friends -10 years Kids- -15 years- or as close to their age as you can get!!
witch Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 Well, maybe, although according to my children I act as if I am the same age as them - 19, 21 and 23. Or rather, that's what their friends say
mthomas08 Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 Agree with you on that, 3 of us in this office age range 21-55 and we do have a right laugh at times 1

MK-2 Posted September 16, 2011 Posted September 16, 2011 i always seem to get some sort of aftershave/body spray at xmas and always sit there and say "so i stink, is that it, your subtle hint that im smelly". the mrs does usually say yes though
Scifigirl Posted September 16, 2011 Author Posted September 16, 2011 Smellies are fine -- unless they completely misjudged you. I got a bottle of Britney perfume one year! I am NOT a girly girly-- pink is evil and Britney must die But i smiled and said thanks!!
