The emails have gone out today confirming what you've actually got for that sum of money deducted from your Visa card.

Mr gee applied for loads of tickets for us and got only one set of 4... but it's the Athletics 200m final which we are delighted with.

I applied for many fewer and different tickets for us and, although it appeared I had been unsuccessful at first, there was a late payment on my card and I've got us tickets for the Football final, Mens C1 canoe slalom (Would have preferred the K1 as a former slalomist, but this'll do) and Gymnastics.

Overall, we're very pleased.

I know so many were disappointed, but has anybody else got tickets for events?

Waiting for my friend to confirm......we went for womans volley ball ;) obviously to check out the tactics and skill level. I think we also went for a swimming event and football semi-final.

We shall see!

I only applied for a couple of events that I particularly wanted to see, and got neither of them. More than a little disappointed. I guess that's what I get for being careful and not trying to grab as many tickets as I could.

Yep we did the same and got bugger all. I know Thomas Cook are doing package deals, might be worth seeing what they have on offer.

Strangely Thomas Cook were advertising the package deals for the two events I went for before the ticket results were announced. My new plan is to give up on the whole thing in disgust and take a trip to Carnivale in Venice instead.

Didn't apply for tickets, as I had applied (and since been interviewed) to be a London 2012 Games Maker Volunteer.

My daughter applied for that, but hasn't heard a thing :(

Well im off to Florida to get married during the games next year so didnt apply for any :) but still feel like a winner :D

Sounds like a much better idea! Congratulations! :)

I had confirmation back in March, and my local regional event was in April.

I think the process is still taking place around the UK, so maybe they have not covered your regional area yet?

The Olympic Website states:

From January 2011 we will start inviting successful applicants to a selection event – this will be between February 2011 and early 2012.

The events will be held in London, Glasgow, Newcastle, Manchester, Coventry, Cardiff, Belfast, Weymouth and Plymouth.

... but it's the Athletics 200m final

We put in for that evening as well but didn't get anything.

I am going to see some of the football. Just hope I don't get something like Algeria vs Tonga!

I have put in an application to watch the Womens Beach Volleyball on our TV during the games...but I bet my wife vetoes it... :(

...I don't think she fully appreciates my level of interest in the physical demands of the sport...

Am I the only person in the world who will be doing everything I can to avoid as much of the Olympics as possible?

Were you a grouch about the royal wedding too?

Nothing...Mind you I did apply for all of the martial arts events (from starting events to finals), swimming and Javelin

At least you'll be eligible for the tickets sale on Friday as you've received no tickets, it's annoying when you've got 1 set that you aren't eligible to apply for more until the 3rd ticket sale:mad:

Probably even more annoying to have been given no tickets, and then have the people with hundreds buy them all up in the second sale before you have a chance.

True, suppose I should stop being greedy and be happy that I'm at least seeing one event...

We got one day of althletics! which encompasses the Mens 4 x400m Final, womens 1500 metre final, womans 5000m final, womens 4 x100m final (I think)

We also got the Volleyball Mens Gold Medal match which is nice as MrwITch used to be a national league player in his time.
