I've been having it for a while... I decided to google it, mainly because I'm bored, and one of the causes is exessive caffine intake.

My caffine intake isn't exessive... 5 cups of coffee in 3 hours in nothing.

The mussel in my arm sometimes "spasms" after a few large half-pint mugs of coffee. Other times, my leg just shakes continually, not to mention the chest tightness. :p

Then the down side is the theory that coffee is like lubrication for your insides! :o

Do you mean that your eyelid twitches so much that people can see it? Or that it's a feeling of the eyelid muscle spasming?

I've had the spasming for some time....and my coffee intake in NIL!!!!

:scarednow: !!!!

It's eye strain, I've got it this morning from not getting enough sleep and my office having very bright lights/white desks.

Rest your eyes and use eye drops to clear it along with a good nights sleep.

the muscle twitch/tic in the eyelid can be caused by stress, tiredness, caffeine, etc. i used to have one for ages, and i wasn't getting enough sleep and getting quite stressed at work.

**edit**

yeah what he said above.......:evil_twisted:

It's the bottom eyelid of my right eye.

I can feel it, and no-one has said anything, but I can kind of see it twitching at the bottom of my vision.

If I put my finger on it, I can feel it. So it's definately happening.

I may see what happens if I leave the coffee for a while.

Also, tea has caffine. So do a few other things.

a good nights sleep.

A good nights sleep for me is around 12 hours... Hence why I drink so much coffee.

Yep...sounds just like me!

Right eye, bottom lid....Scary!!!

Tea has almost as much caffeine in as coffee, apparently, so that may be the cause of mine....for your 5 cups of coffee....read 5 cups of tea!!!

Pound for pound Tea has more caffine than coffee.

But there's more caffine in a cup of coffee than there is in a cup of tea.[/soSaysStephenFry]

I read this while skimming the wiki page

Rooibos is purported to assist with nervous tension, allergies and digestive problems.

That's not caffine addiction, that's called working as ICT support.

I tried once. I thought that someone had put the contents of an ash tray into the bag and brewed my tea with it. /vomit

Could be work stress? I drink plenty of caffeine myself but if I get really stressed at work then the twitches come back.

Maybe too much sleep as well. 12 hours seems like a lot and if I oversleep at the weekend I can barely function all day.

Definitely not stress. I get it during the weekend/holidays too.

12 hours is the maximum. It's usually around 10. I just naturally wake up at around 10:30.

One day I will give up on my pint mug scale intake of caffine and I think this has been a good boost to my cause!

Scared sober?

Glad I could help.

I have this problem, it is so bad it looks like I am winking. I went for a job interview and the stress caused a severe reaction. One of the interviewers asked me if I had a problem and I explained and said that if I took an asprin it would stop it. He asked me if I would like them to get some for me but I said I had my own. I opened my briefcase to reveal that it was crammed full of condoms.

"Are you some sort of sex maniac?" I was asked.

"Not at all", I replied. "Have you ever tried going into Boots with a severe twitch and asking for asprin?"
