localzuk Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 Just thought I'd find out how many people on here are 'sporty'
webman Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 Sport? What's that? 8) Don't do any and I don't watch any
Jake Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 I dont *do* sport anymore, though I was an accomplished squash player in my younger days. These days though I dont participate, watch alot of it though, everything from figure skating (which, oddly for a guy, I think is great) to american football
Lee_K_81 Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 I used to be very sporty. loved playing football and watching it also. Now i only watch occasionally (usually England games) and havent played in over a year..... I really cut back on playing once i discovered the magical thing of beer. followed by kebabs..... and occasionally women (not necessarily in that order)
krisd32 Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 Play football about 2 times a week possibly more if the weather holds out! love watching it aswell. also try to go snowboarding for 1 week every year which i really enjoy. but i watch any type of sport on t.v. but i also do spend most nughts in the local doing this.
russdev Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 you been spying on me..... Yes i hate to say it yesterday joined gym near work well in fact 1 minute away in attempt to lose weight that years and lack of ex cerise has put on me.. Currently;y setting up a word press install to track my progress I use to watch quite lot know limited to motor sports, baseball and American football. Russ
TechMonkey Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 I keep the front up of no sport for the IT image. But do plenty of climbing, bit of extreme frisbee, enjoy swimming, tried a bit of free-running (though stumble at the running bit), bit of power kiting and am a Scout Leader so inevitably ending up on in the middle of no-where walking to another no-where while shepherding small people. Part from that though not really a sport person. Only watch football if I'm with others that do and have to as a group activity, bit of rugby watching if it gets exciting and thats about it.
ChrisH Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 I used to do a lot of sport and now I feel like an old man before my 30th birthday. Currently not doing much apart from walking the dog . I have plans for a punch bag when I move soon though
plexer Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 I play 5 a side on a friday every now and then but it's only for the beer at the end of it. Ben
ThatBoringBloke Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 I find that hitting the gym, when time permits, helps me destress from a day at school. Something about pounding the crap out of a punch bag............
localzuk Posted March 9, 2007 Author Posted March 9, 2007 All I can say is 'argh!!! what has happened to geeks???' :-o
chrbb Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 Can't believe I'm going to admit this but I linedance! Computers and linedancing I am definately odd! Used to play league badminton but suddenly found everyone was younger, slimmer, fitter and looked better in sports gear than me so gave up! Like watching basketball, particually when my youngest son plays, for a non contact sport it's surprising aggressive, think this gets rid of my aggression in a proxy sort of way.
elsiegee40 Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 I cycle to school every day and swim regularly... Gave up the kayak after a back injury a couple of years ago!
mattx Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 Used to, football mainly. Badminton too - got back into it last year then got knocked off my motorbike by an un-licenced cab driver which resulted in an old knee injury flaring up again..... Thinking about having acupuncture again now as that worked before.
amyr Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 ok does horse-riding count? i tend to ride once a week and walk the dogs most days, so fairly active although avoid running at all costs! thinking about starting step aerobics though and i do swim a lot in the summer after work in the sea - great way to wind down as the dogs join in as well...
Guest Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 Been studying Muay Thai for a few years, and regular visit the gym to polish the guns.
Midget Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 I used to play rugby and go to the gym before taking on this job.

muppet Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 I coach junior tag-rugby every Sunday to the under 6's and 7's (it's like herding cats!!). I coach the adult rugby team every other Sunday, and I play for the adult team on the Sundays we don't train......... but I get the most exercise from tidying up after my 3 kids!!!!
amyr Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 ok does horse-riding count? i tend to ride once a week Horse riding???? With a riding crop??? and those riding boots?? Giggidy ! yes, now get back in the cage!
Midget Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 /me looks suspiciously at amy..... what SORT of horse riding? If it's dressage I'm out of here, I used to go out with a girl who did dressage. Couldn't ask anything about her horse without a 2hour lecture on the ancestry of her horse.
