LeightonJames Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Hi all Not sure if you aware but there is now a website that you can use to check if you are expecting to receive any speeding tickets. Just enter your reg and it will tell you if there are any active speeding violations against that number. If you do have one there is the option to see a picture of the alleged offence. I did it and i was clocked at 31 in a 30 zone. See if you have been naughty: UK Speed Camera Database. Check to see if you have been caught speeding 1
featured_spectre Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 According to that my car was speeding at a place called Gossmore Fraddon, at the time it was parked up in my work car park! Me thinks that site is rubbish
krisd32 Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 @nephilim click to see the picture. its just a joke site.
localzuk Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Its hoax nonsense. I just checked a car and it has the same 'Grossmore Fraddon' place for it. Not to mention, the car in question is on a forecourt at a car dealership and has been for weeks...
Hightower Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 And if you look out the left hand side of the aeroplane everybody, you'll see 1990
Guest TheLibrarian Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 This post is in the Jokes/Interweb Things forum...
featured_spectre Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Apparently Localzuk we have had humour transplants...I just don't find that funny as people genuinely panic about that stuff.
CHR1S Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Ill just leave this snippet here - 1938 Newsflash "aliens have landed" - Orson Welles /Everybody Panic
EvLPhenom Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 i got worried at first, then wanted to look at the image as didn't recognise the road name. Then clocked on it was joke.
TechMonkey Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 And if you look out the left hand side of the aeroplane everybody, you'll see 1990 I hope you warned them
MK-2 Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 the "view picture" bit isn't highlighted enough. you could read the page and think it were real (apart from the obvious spelling mistakes!) and not notice the picture link. if that were made more visible, like a "car X was caught speeding, click here for the image from the camera" then it might have been more effective. plus a pictue of a funny car not just a baby might have been better. look at me criticising a joke website
LeightonJames Posted March 25, 2011 Author Posted March 25, 2011 WOW, Thought this would go over a bit better than it obviously has. Anyway, made me laugh when i got some of the teachers with it!
localzuk Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Apparently Localzuk we have had humour transplants...I just don't find that funny as people genuinely panic about that stuff. Agree here, it isn't even a good hoax, or funny. Not sure why anyone would think it was. Oh well, I'll just go back to planning April Fools day.
