localzuk Posted February 9, 2011 Posted February 9, 2011 I've attempted to call Adobe several times only to just end up on hold forever, and using their support site is impossible as this question doesn't fit into any of their categories and their 'other' option tells you to call them... So, my question is, do Adobe suite licenses transfer to the new academy if a school becomes one?

Guest markabe Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 Hi, As a governor at school that has recently become an academy I picked up on the potential problem of software licence transfers, so I've been working on this internally within Adobe. At this point in time I don't have a definitive answer, but I can reassure schools that there will be no requirement to re-purchase licences. At the very worst there will be a licence transfer form to complete and I'm trying to reduce this administrative burden further by only requiring name change registration when either a new agreement or licence purchase is made. Jawloms Posted May 20, 2011 Posted May 20, 2011 I'd like to know about this too as we're in a slightly different situation. We have a site license for CS4 and are becoming an academy. The difference however is that the other high school in the town is also becoming the same academy (Orwell High School and Deben High School are becoming "Felixstowe Academy") but both sites are physically staying where they are. How will that affect our site license? Would we suddenly be able to install it at the other site because we are all the same school?
john Posted May 21, 2011 Posted May 21, 2011 When I last read the license for Adobe Site Licenses Software it was for one Physical Campus so fi you have two physically separate campuses then you would need one per site, but do check / raise it with your licensing partner.

Adobe has a simple 'Change of Name' form that can be used to transfer licences from school to academy. In this instance two forms will be required - one each for Orwell and Deben. I've attached the Change of Name form so that everyone in this situation can complete the forms and satisfy themselves that they have registered the change. Regards MarkACON.pdf
Jawloms Posted June 3, 2011 Posted June 3, 2011 Thanks for this. I had an email from my adobe reseller only yesterday telling me this. I've now gone back to them with another question; In two years time, all the students, staff and computers on both sites will be moving in to a new building on the site which originally purchased the site licence. Presumably as it is the site which purchased the site licence, we can install it on that site on as many computers as we like? I expect Adobe to come back and say 'No' for some reason as they will be missing out on quite a lump of cash there, but as far as I can tell we wouldn't be breaking any rules would we?
