pagelad Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Does anyone know of any good all in one workstation solutions? Ideally with touchscreen. Our budget is around £500 ish per machine
dhicks Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Does anyone know of any good all in one workstation solutions? Ideally with touchscreen. Every other stall at BETT seemed to be running new touch-screen RM One workstations. I also had a look at the Viglen stand - they had a similar product, but the touch-screen part was simply a standard touch screen monitor. It looked like very well thought-out design, basically a nice all-in-one PC case with a standard VESA mount point for whatever monitor you like - you can even buy just the stand without the monitor, I understood. I think both designs allowed you to lock away any cables from prying fingers yet used big enough cases that there was room to fit (half-height) expansion cards if needed. -- David Hicks
3s-gtech Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 HP Touchsmart series? Price seems to have spiked a bit, but they look decent.
witch Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 The Lenovos are nice but not touchscreen I don't think
pagelad Posted January 21, 2011 Author Posted January 21, 2011 Anyone heard of \ used Ergo? Had a quick play with the demo models they had at Bett and was reasonably impressed (Welcome - Ergo Computing - Full-scale ICT solutions provider)
projector1 Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 just been reading the stone BETT brouchure, the AIO 200, windows 7 pro, spec dual core E5400, 2gb ram ddr, 20" iiyama screen, 3 yr warranty is £399 ex vat.

Had a quick play with the demo models they had at Bett and was reasonably impressed (Welcome - Ergo Computing - Full-scale ICT solutions provider) We have some of their laptops, admittedly from about 5 years ago. They're not great. Viglen had a new version of the Omnimo, which can take any sensibly sized Vesa monitor.
dhicks Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 Does anyone know of any good all in one workstation solutions? Ideally with touchscreen. It depends on what kind of machine you want - an more traditional, upgradeable desktop PC style machine, or an integrated laptop sort of device. If the latter, at home I use an Advent 22" touchscreen Windows 7 PC - I don't know if PC World Business sell them in bulk, but there's always the similar HP TouchSmarts (again, several of those used as demo machines at BETT). You could always go for a tablet PC and some kind of wall-mounting or stand (I use industrial strength velcro). -- David Hicks
plexer Posted January 21, 2011 Posted January 21, 2011 I think the ergo all in ones and the touchscreen versions are better than most. Ben
brooker101 Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 The Stone AIO's look awful, Ergo seem to have true AIO's and from BETT they looked the biz.
mjs_mjs Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 We have 2 Viglen machines on trial - both are all in ones, and both could potentially have touch screens on them and at the prices we've been quoted (for 100ish) they would come in under your budget.
