Do you have to pay for the power management element of MS System Center as a separate module do you know ? Think this is the Nightwatchman product isn't it ?

Perhaps this is why so many people are moving away from RM CC3 and are not choosing to upgrade to the extremely expensive CC4. Much better alternatives in the market these days than RM in my opinion, what do you think Andrew C ?

The Stone AIO's look awful, Ergo seem to have true AIO's and from BETT they looked the biz.

Ergo Micro PC excellent for footprint and future proofing. Looks like it will take i3, i5 and i7 which is unusual for a PC this size. They usually are Atom based processors.

Thanks for that feedback. My colleague has just had an invite locally from Ergo for an open day in January for Meru. Surprised they are still in tbh.... Will bear Ruckus in mind. Any significant cost differences ?

Pretty decent All in One offering, although screen is all integrated in this one so not sure it is quite what you are looking for ? University of Sunderland's Bespoke All-in-One PC Solution - Ergo Computing - Full-scale ICT solutions provider

A number of these kind of solutions cropping up now, appears to be more bolted solutions every year at the BETT Show. (Some pretty poor quality efforts, normally done by furniture companies). From my experience I-Desk and Ergo dominate the market for these products, and believe Ergo are very competitive as they don't need to outsource the IT element like I-Desk do. Not sure about the super imposed images of Gordon Brown and Tony Blair on the I-Desk brochure ! Looks a bit tacky.

Looks like Uni of Nottingham has deployed 10000 licenses of PowerMAN. Saw this on the Ergo website from a recent mailer they sent me. Full-scale ICT solutions for universities and higher education from Ergo Computing Presumably an organisation of that size must have looked at a few products on the market ?

Guess any school insurance would have an excess that would be higher than the cost of the laptop. Also you would probably need to have AD specifically covered for contents on a household policy, and again with computer equipment you may need to specify the product. This is always a grey area, and I have found that even when it is clearly AD, people tend to go into denial.

Yes had similar when using an Asus RF-1 tablet, RM not interested and just gave me the number to contact Asus direct. Absolute nightmare to get hold of, and repair took an age. Wouldn't use them again based on my experiences.

Purchased one of these from PC World with the AMD processor, 3Gb RAM and 160Gb HDD. Thought it would be fine for basic web use and word etc, as only £399. Thought AMD just had a bad press, but know some people who seem to like them. Must admit I do find it really slow to say the rest of the spec. Anybody else have AMD processor slowness issues ?

Lapsafe are quality trolleys, but for a more economic trolley I think Bretford might do one and Monarch, but not sure if they do one for 6. Think the lowest sized one is 10.

At lboro uni we had real room and desk space issues and we purchased the secure desks from ergo. I think they do them from 750mm wide although we took 900mm I think it was in the end as we got an extra 10 student spaces from 30 previously up to 40. Just taken a look at the ergo website and looks like they are also in the all in one pc market. This could be another alternative for space saving ? Hope this helps.
