It's Friday, I've had a tiring, stressful week, like most of us have. For some strange reason I'm feeling all short-fusey.....

 

I get to work and start going through my inbox. The first two emails are regarding internet access. From different people, they both contain the same error. Instead of web-site, or site, they've spelt site as "SIGHT".....

True - I'm not sure which is worse though, having a complete lack of punctuation or some basic understanding that something should be there - leading to the 'shotgun' method where it inevitably ends up in the wrong place...

People who prod my screen when I ask them what folder something is in. Drives me nuts. I asked you for the folder name not to punch a hole in my monitor with your pen!

 

The kids language makes me laugh more then irritate me. One memorable moment was a pupil telling a female member of staff with a new haircut "Miss, your hair looks sick!" followed by my colleage exploding grilling the kid while the poor girl was trying to explain "miss, sick means good!"

Having nightmares. Last night, it strangely involved tech_guy too.

 

The part that involved tech_guy was he was coming to our NM meeting, but with him living down the country somewhere he needed a place to stay. I volunteered our IT office, and the next bit I remember was he was lying on a shelf (like the cheshire cat) demanding some wine.

 

I didin't sleep last night, and instead ended up watching scrubs until 3am, so thanks for that tech_guy

I got that the other day, and now the person in question refers to it as a 'TonyPhone' as 'HTC Desire HD' is too much of a mouthful.

I really cannot stand people who use American English when they aren't American. Seeing the word Mom instead of Mum drives me nuts!!!!

 

Mom is not American English... It is a regional variation, much like Mam. Sure, Americans and Canadians use it but so do some areas of the UK. I use it for example (but then again, my Mom is Canadian!)
