I have just been reminded about new year resolutions. I have never been a fan and have never made resolutions. However it occurred to me that there might be some who still make resolutions. With that in mind I have started this poll.

I always try to make one.

This years was to make sure I do more DIY around the house and tbh I feel that I've accomplished this one!

For next year, I'll be working on either getting a new job or going self employed again. We shall see!

Drop 3 stone by summer which would take me down to 13 stone, starting to feel my age a little with the extra weight, need to get a little fitter also although I can still walk quite far and run a little.

Would like to start playin 5 aside football again :)

I have a few:

I resolve to work with neglected children -- my own.

I will no longer waste my time relieving the past, instead I will spend it worrying about the future.

I will think of a password other than "password" or "hello"

I will try and balance my checkbook. On my nose.

I will play more computer games. Scientists say they're good for you and improve your visual skills.

I will never again take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.

Jeeeeeez 2011 is going to be tough.

Not so much a resolution as I never stick to them, but in an attempt to lose some more weight this year (managed to lose 2 stone by giving up chocolate for lent last year) I have entered a competition with my sister, we are going to give up chocolate for a year :decision: this will also help me during my training to complete the 3 peaks challenge in May.

Personally my preferred resolution this year will be 1920x1200... ;) Due to some still using 800x600 though I may have to break this resolution at times when designing lol

chocolate is off for me now. i'd done it after coming back off honeymoon last year (where we overly indulged) so had been off chocolate from april til oct last year. and from oct-dec i seemed to make up for it again so have decided to call it quits. no food based chocolate (hot chocolate and the likes are still on)

PC Pro actually hve an entire article centered around this gag:

My New Year’s resolutions for 2011 | PC Pro blog

Personally, I think they missed out by not including 1024 x 768 - a particularly significant resolution for schools-related IT. A minimum "standard" available on most computers, you can pick up perfectly decent 15" monitors capable of 1024 x 768 second hand, in bulk. 15" is just right for many places in schools - large enough to be practical, but not so large it looms in a classroom or gives a child room to hide behind. That "standard" now extends to most installed front-of-class projectors and, importantly, the iPad, making using an iPad as a control device for a projected display a natural choice.

I have taken the stance not to have a new year's resolution, but have a 10 year plan of things I want to do and/or achieve, from as small as having my own website (DONE), to being a good father (not small by any means), to completing 3 Peaks Challenge this year, and Killi in 2012.

My new blog will have all this detailed (when I get round to writing it up!!!)

For some reason this year I've made several resolutions...

1) - Lose 3 stone (although in reality I haven't set a limit on what I want to lose. I just want to weigh what I did when I left high school).

2) - Get the golf handicap down under 20 - currently at 25 so there's some work to be done. In reality though I'm playing to 21/22 and those new clubs I've bought will make a massive amount of difference (that's what I'm telling the gf anyway :-) ).

3) - New Job

4) - New house - must complete resolution 3 before 4 is possible :-)
