mattx Posted December 13, 2010 Author Posted December 13, 2010 Forgot to add, the school breaks up - I don't. Got plenty to get on with over the next week or so.
jamesfed Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 3 so far all saying thanks for all your help with IT over the last year - I think the NM got a bottle of wine from someone to.

laserblazer Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 I've had one card from a pupil. On the envelope it said Mr B..... (No Class) Can't say our kids are not astute. We have one of the charity wall charts. Instead of giving out cards, we write a message on the chart and put some dosh in the box.

6Foot2 Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 [scrooge mode] I have none from work. We finish on Friday after midday. However as I am not Christmas-Inclined I am not too bothered. [/scrooge mode]
rad Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 I got one, seems the guy that gave me one (an LSA) has given every member of staff one (say 200) plus some to students as well. Oh I got it on 30th November too. As for presents, as a department, we got a box of celebrations via our Deputy Head. Always welcome, and greatfully received.

featured_spectre Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 I have 8 cards...and I never give any out...ever
elsiegee40 Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 A bottle of champagne from the chair of our PTA to thank me for my help has more than made up for the absence of anything else. The Pre-Schoolers did bring me a hand drawn card of a robin (well I think that's what it is!) today I never give cards at school - I make a donation to charity (Kent Air Ambulance this year) and put a poster in the staff room wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and saying which charity I've donated to. One of our TAs does a similar thing making a donation to Diabetes UK.

tech_guy Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 I'm hoping for my usual bottle of JD from a certain staff member. It's become a bit of a festive tradition to spend the first couple of days of the holiday in a sour mash-induced haze... ;-)

witch Posted December 13, 2010 Posted December 13, 2010 a couple of cards from each job - one from a child. Nothing else - oh yes, except a thanks at the end of the carol service/nativity play (I played in the orchestra). Bit of a double-edged sword though - what the head actually said was; 'I must thank Ms xxx who is helping us out - she is a jack of all trades' -and then he said...'and master of none' Cheeky b****. I did sweep past him and point out that I had created the program as well and really was a master of many trades.

rad Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 I once gained a "present" from a year 7 student in the form of a chutney jar and mustard I think from M and S. Turned out the head also got one but wasnt as greatful for it.
