aerospacemango Posted November 16, 2010 Posted November 16, 2010 Bizarrely, the GT540 get's a poor review (No.5) with a lot of mis-leading points. the GT540 is stuck with a particularly insensitive resistive model that becomes increasingly frustrating to use as you once again have to double or triple press to bend it to your will Hmmm...I find my screen to be very responsive, and a double tap, for magnifying is the most I have to do! I certainly DON'T have to "bend it to my will". There's a 600MHz Qualcomm processor on board but that doesn't seem to help it run particularly quickly Doesn't run particularly slowly, imho, so that's a bit fatuous! As for the price being £170.....hmmm...I'd suggest they did a bit more research! Ok, so maybe I'm a little protective of my phone, but this review is terrible!

At the weekend, he realised he still had the delivery sticker stuck to the screen. Now peeled off, the phone is far more responsive Me? Laugh at him? Of course I am!!! 1

Read the SF Wiki on the Modaco forum - I wrote that bit and a few others! http://wiki.modaco.com/index.php/ZTE_Blade Take in your payslip (and some photo ID) to any Orange shop and they'll give you £20 off for being a public sector worker. The forum recommends NCKCODES for unlocking online for $3, although a thread appeared a couple of days ago about a website offering a free unlock calculator. john Posted November 18, 2010 Posted November 18, 2010 I suspect, the public sector discount is due to Orange being the holder of the Buying Solutions Mobile Framework agreement thus they sell them stupidly cheap to schools, I think we pay something like £5 a month line rental on our basic orange mobiles including a small voice and text package its just stupidly small and cheap. iPhones are also very cheap on this framework. Didn't know they gave discount to us meer workers though on our personal handsets, its interesting and probably worth investigating more.

Gibbo Posted November 18, 2010 Author Posted November 18, 2010 The GPS is amazing. Quick to fire up and get your location. And if you use it inconjunction with the Android version of "Wheresthepath" a wonderful replacement for a full GPS (assuming you have a 3G signal where you are!)
