Butters Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Oh agreeing wholeheartedly with the PC version being dud. Tried it last night on a whim from Steam and it's pretty laggy on my monster gaming rig. Very disappointed again that consoles are favoured.
Duds Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 It's nothing to do with Spec. It's screwed up, period. Black Ops’ multiplayer design director, David Vonderhaar, confirmed to Twitter users that the Treyarch team knows about the issues, but expect an official confirmation to arrive from Activision today.
Fatmas Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 I would be happy with Fable 3 or Fallout NV. I had Force Unleashed 2 over the weekend which is very good but rather short so a good rental title. How long do you plan on renting Fallout for? You need plenty more than a weekend.
featured_spectre Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 The issue occurs when there is next to no people on the screen, if you have loads of people on the screen, then the issue isnt there....

I've read that it has major performance issues on an i7 with 6GB of RAM. Ouch.
CHR1S Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 I think over all its a bit meh, I will play it, shout at it, get angry with the skill less noob tubers and sprayers but it will never win my heart Wow that was melodramatic!
Fatmas Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 I never thought I would say this but after playing MW, MW2 and the Halo games (1-3, ODST and Reach) I really do believe Halo Multiplayer is much more of a challenge. Also I have never been called a ********* **** **** on Halo by a 12 year old kid. (PM me if you really want to know the disgusting language).

I have to say Chris, I am with you here. Whether it me MW2, Black Ops, MOH, the perks system and kill streak rewards just spoil the game. I want to go back to a game were it's just me and my weapon of choice
CHR1S Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 I want to go back to a game were it's just me and my weapon of choice I was in a clan for CoD 1,2 rifles only - now that sorted the men from the boys and without a helicopter in sight
kevbaz Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 How long do you plan on renting Fallout for? You need plenty more than a weekend. with love film you rent as long as you want, i had dragon age for nearly 3 months
sidewinder Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Good news - got the game today Bad news - my dad has just called me to say that road maintanance people have cut through our Virgin cable :'( Looks like I wont be trying multiplayer for a while!

You can use the bots on it though - the AI is quite impressive.
Diello Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 I've read that it has major performance issues on an i7 with 6GB of RAM. Ouch. Running mine on a i7 920 OC'd to 3.5GHz with 6GB RAM and a Samsung F3 HD - Haven't seen any of the lagging problems. Though I'm probably just lucky by the sounds of it. Single player is good, though think I prefer MW2... it's growing on me though...
LosOjos Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 I'm finding I enjoy this game a lot more in a party with mates than I do playing alone, especially the wager matches, they're a good laugh EDIT: Also, I seem to have developed alzheimer's. Also, I seem....
CHR1S Posted November 11, 2010 Posted November 11, 2010 Right, I have played long enough now to decide that I hate it.... Its just not well balanced! One map I can win 30+ kills no problems, the next I can be 4 for 12 and not see an enemy until he kills me. The game just has too many flaws - The weapons are imbalanced The spawn points are too random The game forces camping I seem to be able to kill people that are not in front of me (lag?) and vice versa and thats just so far... it could have been a great game... but it seems I will be going back to MW2 sooner rather than later

MP is annoying me because of the stupid spawn areas and the daft points system. I'll give it another week but it's not looking good. Not impressed and I was so looking forward to it after MW2. MK-2 Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 i'm actually glad it's rubbish. perhaps game makers will move more towards pleasing the gamers than just riding on the coat tails of previous versions or using sensationalistic level ideas (ohh look we get to run through an airport killing people) or silly rewards. they want to create a realistic war game, yet give ordinary soldiers access to air strikes, nuclear bombs, ability to fall great heights etc. because they have killed x amount of people.
mattx Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 ....they want to create a realistic war game, Errrrrrrr ok. If you say so. That's no re-spawning and getting to checkpoints then.....
dirtydog Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 This game is infuriating. my mates say that when they are no good at it... weirdly I seem to be doing fairly well with it, all I've done is buy the enfield with a red dot and its good for 3:1 kill:death. I suspect its because everyone still hasn't bought decent guns though as the ones that have, well.... that gunner chopper thing is way too powerful though!

Played Armed Assault or Operation Flashpoint if you want realistic 1
MK-2 Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 Played Armed Assault or Operation Flashpoint if you want realistic i'm just saying, they try to get the graphics to look as near to life, the guns to look as real as possible, yet killing 50 people will give you the ability to summon a mini nuke or something. why strive for realism then add fantastical things like that. and yes i understand its because it draws more buyers in. i know the game wouldnt be as fun if you got hit by one bullet, slowed down to a crawl and then bled out and died, but i think the ideas and concepts with the modern warfare games just get more fantastical compared to the WW2 games.
kevbaz Posted November 12, 2010 Posted November 12, 2010 I hate it, after deciding to give it a go and playing multiplayer for a good hour man it blows, i really dont see the appeal especially when the hit boxes are size of houses, and the last kill cam is a joke and highlights precisely why the game is so bad, as for the campaign... BORING! same thing every level just a different background, run gun run gun blah blah yawn, its currently winging its way back to lovefilm...
