My Headteacher was talking web sites today and asked me to have a look at:

 

Welcome to Blandford St Mary Primary School Website!

 

It's a site that she found and likes the look of. I can't make out what it's built in - anyone any idead and comments please.

 

Our existing site is a Edugeek Joomla - she is happy with it but for the next development wanted me to explore a bit.

It looks like it's been generated (badly, it violates several standards) by something rudimentary.

Wow!! It's all honest to goodness HTML. Someone must have spent quite a lot of time and effort on that. Nor a database or table in sight. Must be murder to add a new document too or update quickly.

Do your self a favour and stick with joomla. Or don't have a website. Either would be prefered.

 

In all seriousness it's likely to have been a member of staff with little knowledge of building websites and did the best that they could at the time, not all schools are blessed with geniuses like us.

Who's brave enough to email that primary school and suggest they use Comic Sans on their web site. I feel it would be in keeping.

That site is the website equivalent of cake-wrecks....I'm sorry to say something so unkind.

 

Do you remember the site that was famous for being so bad - it was for a wedding dress maker or something? That one was truly awful.

Has anyone else spotted that the site scrolls horizontally if viewed with a resolution that is only 1024px wide? You know, the sot of resolution an awful lot of home users still run at? Loving external websites in frames on some of the other pages too.
