A 250GB MyBook external drive so I can actually get my videos edited in FCE and use the drive as a scratch disk. I've been moaning about using my MacBook Pro HDD for months. I've also put all my Parallels VMs on there- so it has worked out nicely.

Nothing wrong with Charlie Brown. He's cool!

A USB Deskset, complete with light, vac and mug warmer. I think that was someones way of hinting that I need to clean my desk more often (says me whos just grabbed an avalance of papers, PCI Cards, Hard Drives and Ram that were all about to fly off my desk on to the floor again!)

Well, for Christmas I didn't get much in the way of 'geek' gifts, although I did get a very nice (and loud :D ) Philips Home Cinema DVD system. Subwoofers are so good!

I also got a bit of money, which I spent (plus a bit more besides) building myself a new rig! Core 2 Duo E6400 with 2Gb RAM, in a nice big Antec case. Only drawback is because of all the fans, it sounds like I'm sitting next to a Jumbo Jet! Very cool, though!

On a side note, have Microsoft given up with XP activation? I moved my retail of XP Pro from the old machine to this new one, but because of a screw-up by my suppliers* I had to change the motherboard to a completely different model - I was expecting an uncomfortable call to the Microsoft Activation people, but I got internet activation for the same copy of Windows on two consecutive days with a different motherboard each time! Spooky! I'm guessing they have bigger fish to fry with Vista now?

New Year Greetings to all,

Chris.

*Mis-listing the board as supporting 1066MHz FSB when it didn't :( D'oh!

Nintendo Wii + Wii Sports + Zelda.

Jammy Git. I cancelled my order as so close to crimbo i didn't have enough in the old bank account. I pre-ordered mine with game and they were so lame, they said i wouldn't get it at release time (emailed about two/three days before but MAY get it before christmas if i'm lucky.

my arms hurt already

at least you know you're playing it right. Its meant to hurt so you know your totally engrossed in the experience.

I had a few DVDs ninja scroll series and ghost in the shell spin offs and mainly choccy. I was supposed to have had the wii for christmas

The Rokus are great Ive used one and its a very good item and looks very smart.

As for XP activation, if its retail edition so long as your only using it on 1 machine you can keep moving it from machine to machine to machine as its a Retail copy so its yours for life

I thought Geoff wasnt into ipods and all that.

They work on Linux.

They do. I've done it myself. Although I think a Sansa 2xx series would be good- even with OS X. I looked at them yesterday in fact.

Crafter FX550 - Electro Acoustic Guitar :D

I've primarily been a bass player up until now and playing my dad's 6-string guitars doesnt give me enough practice so one of my own should :)

And of course...the usual assortment of socks :)

Treated ourselves to a couple of Sony Ericsson K750i's on a dodgy 100% cashback deal and got a remote mains adaptor from a list of 'geeky presents that save you money' - we're THAT tight!!! lol :p

I got socks & a windproof fleece :(

The fleece was because I complained it's a bit on the cool side cruising with the roof down in my Z4 I got for my birthday last year :)
