Disaster Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 you'll get out of this easy. Most objections to parking tickets go our way (over 90% i think someone on the radio said, might have been Martyn of money saving expert.) 1

Edu-IT Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 Could it be that the attendant saw the tail end of the 'crocodile teeth' and assumed they went all along underneath your car? I don't imagine many to get down on their hands and knees to check. 1
GrumbleDook Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 The problem you have is that since you work at the school you are aware that there is a school entrance nearby (or a former school entrance) and the highway codes states: 243 : DO NOT stop or park - near a school entrance They could rightly say that you were aware of the issue in spite of the improper road markings ... if they can show that there is a risk with you being parked there then it makes the appeal more difficult. Of course, if you are not successful then take the council to court for failure to keep the road markings clear, resulting in you receiving a fine.
Kipling Posted June 25, 2010 Posted June 25, 2010 (edited) I’m sure you’ll be able to contest it successfully. As an alternative defence (though probably too late now unless you know a friendly local garage or car parts place) you are, of course, allowed to break down anywhere at all; All you have to do is prove it – and a receipt for anything will cover that.
