Very, very worthy of its praise. Spent far too long playing single player at the weekend, stunning game and yes, better than GTA!

What do you exactly do on this game? A mate has bought it, you dont go round nicking peoples horses do you?

I love rockstar games but just not sure about the wild west theme, I am normally not keen on *older* set games but if the story is good....

I got it on Friday but have only managed to play for an hour or so because of the nice weather :-)

 

It seems very impressive so far: I got attacked by bandits and after dispatching most of them, one decided to escape on horse back.. I managed to shoot him in the shoulder with my rifle and he fell off of his horse but got dragged around as his foot was stuck in the stirrups. Lots of fun had by all!

Well, you can nick horses if you want.... or try to tame some wild ones. Or ride on stage coaches, trains. I've come across one mission where I had to steal a horse out of about 40 but its not Gran Theft Horse.

 

Most real missions include raiding gang hideouts, building up enough of a team to raid an outlaw hideout. Rescusing people from oulaws, getting people from A to B safely. Accepting bounties for wanted posters. Helping out main characters also like in GTA. You also do all the small things, play card games, hunting etc....

 

If you like the GTA style games, this is the best of the bunch IMHO.

 

 

oh and online is an absolute blast. whole world open for multiplayer... gang warfare, posses or lone gunmen.

Very true.... sneaky cougars.

 

Hope theres not a survivalist trophy for taking out the cougars with a knife, I'm scared to do this with the wolves. I've not come across bears yet either... (bit scared)

I love this game, single player will easilly be a 100hour to complete. Multiplayer is also great fun, getting a possey together and riding off against bandits is great fun, though with only 7 locations you can soon run out of things to do in free roam, what you can do then is switch to deathmatch/team deathmatch or capture the flag(bag of gold) which can be fun if you like those modes of play.

 

My main gripe is aimed at the free roam, would be nice to be able to do more as a possey than just the gang hideouts and also random people just killing you wears very thin very quick, if i wanted to play deathmatch id be in that mode!

 

other than a few glitches now and again its great fun!

 

Goign to be working on the animal challenges tonight, them damn bears with their one hit kills!

It's the film Rockstar drew a lot of influence from when making the game, and it's a damn good film in my opinion

I love this game...The latest GTA was good but didn't drag me and make me want to play it all the time, but with this i love it and always wanting to play it.

 

Online is good with friends but random people who keep killing you is a PITA and gets annoying very quickly.

I managed to get mine from Game near Havelock street (Sippo will know where I mean) at about 5pm on release day for £15 :-)

 

Traded in MW2 for £15, had £7 on a game gift card and £2.50 on my reward card, bargain!
