garethEds Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 What a great website - I'm sure the guy who develops it is on here somewhere. If they are can then PM me? Many thanks Gareth Edmondson 1
timbo343 Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Aye, i really like the virtual tour of the school.. A very neat feature. 1
Edu-IT Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 Webman is the guy. Amazing what you can do with website baker if you know what you're doing!! 1
webman Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 PM sent Thanks timbo343. @Edu-IT It's now running Wolf CMS instead. Must get round to doing a write-up on the feature, it seems very sought-after. 1
FN-GM Posted May 19, 2010 Posted May 19, 2010 its a good site. I liked the old one as well. good job 1
plexer Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 PM sent Thanks timbo343. @Edu-IT It's now running Wolf CMS instead. Must get round to doing a write-up on the feature, it seems very sought-after. What did you use for the map? Ben
webman Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 The image itself - Visio. Interactivity on the site is mix of CSS (for the tooltips) and Javascript (photo lightbox). 1
torledo Posted May 20, 2010 Posted May 20, 2010 i actually really liked the old site. it was an andreas theme from what i recall. was that design joomla based ? thought it was very put together and didn't really think it needed updating, but nothing stands still these days. 1
speckytecky Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Superb website but as a former security minion I'm not keen on the public at large having access to the floorplan. 1
webman Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 @torledo Thank you. Yes the old one was based on Andreas02 if I remember rightly. There's never been anything Joomla-esque about any of my sites because I detest it with a passion It was feeling old and the site was beginning to out-grow the initial structure, so something was done. @speckytecky That's never been brought up as an issue here with the SLT or Governors, and our security is fairly high. 1
chrbb Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 PM sent Thanks timbo343. @Edu-IT It's now running Wolf CMS instead. Must get round to doing a write-up on the feature, it seems very sought-after. A write up would be great - redoing my school website soon and been asked to do two more, so free cms would be just what I need. Love the site btw. 1
Ric_ Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 @webman: You have missed a trick with not putting a 'tooltip' on your picnic area... "For eating picnics" 1
Domino Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 @webman: You have missed a trick with not putting a 'tooltip' on your picnic area... "For eating picnics" Nah - should just read 'OMNOMNOMNOM' 2
p858snake Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Yup good ole burglars map Now where's me torch. Night vision goggles is where it's at these days.
SYNACK Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Superb website but as a former security minion I'm not keen on the public at large having access to the floorplan. Solved, added security measures to the map 2
webman Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 Lol SYNACK, Ric_ and Domino. All fantastic ideas. I'll have to work on an easter-egg method of enabling those suggestions

webman Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 There's already a lolcat somewhere on the site. Can you find it?
Mako Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 There's already a lolcat somewhere on the site. Can you find it? Information page. Made me chuckle.
webman Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 @Mako that was an error Should only be viewable by a different, direct URL.
Mako Posted May 21, 2010 Posted May 21, 2010 You said there was a lolcat and I found the lolcat! Whether it was a fault or not, I want my prize! Unless it's an obvious link that I'm missing, then I didn't find it on a quick sweep. I leave in 20 minutes so I haven't really the time to do in-depth search of the laugh-out-loud feline, starting shut up shop for the weekend.
