neilmc Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Hi, I need to have a look at re doing the schools logo, as all the images we have are pixelated does anyone know of anywhere I can get a new logo designed, or is there someone who can have a look at it for me? Cheers
LosOjos Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 If your only issue is that the images are a bit pixelated, try this site to convert the best one you have to a vector graphic: Vector Magic Precision Bitmap To Vector Conversion Online
soveryapt Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 (edited) Feel free to PM the best copy of your logo and I'm happy to take a look see how big a job it would be (or how bad the logo currently is etc) I had to do the same for a couple of the schools I work in .. turned them from a pixelated mess to a nicely redrawn vector that I could then resize out to different formats as required by the school. Little-Miss Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 (edited) There is a Photoshop Ninja that resides on Edugeek.... I shall ask him for you.... He did mine and several others on this forum....he's amazing!! Edited April 28, 2010 by Little-Miss
mstarkie Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Hello I will also have a look if you pm to me. Best thing i find todo is to use Flash and trace it that way. Matt
Devontechie Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 As Sysman said, post it up and I will have a look as well.
dirtydog Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 if not then I can recommend someone to redraw it for you.
EduTech Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 Sysman is the PS Master I am sure he will be able to sort you out :-)
SimpleSi Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 Like others have said - you can use a bad copy and then "trace" over it - I use GIMP myself. Its a bit like fishing - it can take a long time but its very theraputic Sometimes, I've had a quick win by taking a picture of a school sign and just using simple fill techniques as when you shrink it down from megapixel size to a final real size for a webpage/word header, the resizing takes care of any slight imperfections. Stick an existing copy up and we'll have a little comp regards Simon PS Sysman will win of course
Hightower Posted April 29, 2010 Posted April 29, 2010 What you need is to change the logo completely. Those pixelated yellow birds are so 1980's. What you need is a cool 2k10 falcon as the logo!
soveryapt Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 Well for anyone who is intrested, after a number of tweaks this is the final result. http://img27.imageshack.us/img27/4276/cylogofinalsample.png Really pleased how it's turned out and I think neilmc is aswell. I would look at it but in CLEO we get the following when trying to access ImageShack.us .. lol .. This website has been categorised as "Red list". This means we have looked at this site and found it contained inappropriate content. If you have any queries regarding this please send them to filter@ict.lancsngfl.ac.uk (Picks up his iPhone to view .. lol)
tsky Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 Sysman ... you should put a PayPal donate button on your footer... Fancy having a go at our school one? I'll mail you a pack of beer... 1
creese Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 lol Not really the same. The orginal was also of a golden eagle. Can't you see? Never look to close. It's the wrong service for me, I'll stick with the original fly boys.
soveryapt Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 (Picks up his iPhone to view .. lol) Very prettyful .. 1
Duane_Dibbley Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 Nice job sysman. I have just redesigned our school logo (based on a design agreed by other people...not my choice). Do you know of any good monospace fonts preferably serif?

dayzd Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 I just did this recently with Illustrator for our logo. Was a difficult task as the Path tool behaves a little differently to Photoshop's! Was pretty pleased with the result, but as I only did a mono version (that I will apply layer styles etc to when I need it), I should probably do a properly detailed, colour version too, but will practise a bit more first!
Duane_Dibbley Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 (edited) Those are great thanks a lot guys!! Edited April 30, 2010 by Duane_Dibbley
Duane_Dibbley Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 (edited) Oh and thanks andy T as well...just saw ur post Edited April 30, 2010 by Duane_Dibbley unnecessary
tsky Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 Giving Sysman major rep points - he's just reworked our rather complicated logo from the crapola jpg we had (which formed all our printer-ready paperwork!!). Very shiny.. very very nice. Thanks!!!!
EduTech Posted April 30, 2010 Posted April 30, 2010 It's amazing just how many schools are left with not so good images of there media/logos over the years, it's a good job we have people like Sysman around to put everything into the modern world! nice work mate
