Hello all,

Hope you had a good Easter break! It’s patching time again! For your reference, most update packs now come in smaller WinRAR or alternatively ZIP format. This allows for better compression, but also allows technicians on slower internet connections to download multiple, smaller files rather than single larger files.

To download the files, please navigate to logistixonline.com and click on 'File Library'. The rest is self explanatory and all files are dated when they were published.

The following updates are available:

Logistix Google Earth 5.1 MSI (Updated January 10)

Google Earth 5.1 works correctly deploying with Active Directory.

Logistix Office 2007 Compatibility (Updated April 10)

Logistix Plugins Plus (Updated April 10) - Contains Adobe Flash 10.0.45.2, Adobe Shockwave 11.5.6.606, Adobe Reader 9.3.2, Java 6 Update 20, Quicktime Alternative 311 and Real Alternative 211.

Logistix Windows XP SP3 Post Updates (Updated April 10) - Also contains Adobe Flash 10.0.45.2, Adobe Shockwave 11.5.6.606 + all hotfixes up to and including April 2010.

Logistix .NET Framework (Updated October 09)

Logistix Firefox 3.5.7 & 3.6 Lockdown (Updated January 10)

I'll be working on a revised FF deployment in the near future.

Sparklebox KS1 and KS2 Removers (Updated January 10)

PS: I'm liking the new upgraded forum, good going Edugeek :)

I think your .Net package is excellent. But it has now been split into 4 or 5 smaller packages. i understand your reasoning, but is it possible to also have a single package for us techs on a 'speedier' connection?

Still, thanks for the efforts. You make deploying this stuff much easier. :)

Many thanks. The reason for the smaller file sizes is firstly for users on slower connections but secondly PHP file size limitations which are restricted by my current host.

.NET is where Windows Vista (which has .NET 3.0 by default) and Windows 7 (which has .NET 3.5 by default) makes things even easier; however .NET 4.0 is currently in the works. Yet another version to install! :)

Logistix Plugins Plus (Updated April 10 v2) - Contains Adobe Flash 10.0.45.2, Adobe Shockwave 11.5.6.606, Adobe Reader 9.3.2 MSI, Java 6 Update 20, Quicktime Alternative 311 and Real Alternative 211.

This updated pack contains a single deployable MSI for Adobe Reader 9.3.2 and has been fully tested with Active Directory. You can install on existing Adobe Reader versions or new installations.

From the pack copy the following files/folders into a single deployable directory (for example):

\\SERVERNAME\Deployment\AdobeReader9.3.2

Folders: Common, CommonAppData, program files, Windows
Files: AdbeRdr930_en_US.msi

Install manually or deploy with Active Directory. Your workstations will be right up-to-date with Adobe Reader 9.3.2. Overall the Logistix Plugins Plus pack has shrunk from 223MB to 100MB in size!

Mozilla Firefox 3.5.7 & 3.6.3 Logistix Lockdown (Updated April 10) now available for download!

I have tested updating from 3.5.7 > 3.6 > 3.6.3 and 3.6 > 3.6.3 with no problems to report.

Generally speaking they're monthly. It depends if enough security updates are released to justify the time updating and uploading new files.

I was unaware there was a Google Earth 5.2, unless it's still in beta? Do you have a link?

Google Earth 5.1 'officially' was released in November 2009, but my Active Directory MSI version was released in January 2010, that's correct.

You're right. I'm not sure where I saw 5.2 then?
