getting weirder. I followed your advice. and removed one of the access your emails items as they both had the same name.(even though thats the config file that comes with the install) and the error went away. even stranger the other error went away after editing the hapconfig.xml if thats what was wrong i'm surprised more people don't see a problem with it. thanks so much for your help. i'll let you know once i'm finished setting up and if everything is all running ok. extract from hapconfig.xml

I'll take a look but the strange thing is it's a stock install. I've installed it entered AD Details and then this is the first think that happens when i try to change anything. i also get that one when changing the groups associated to a resource
-
OK finally done so. i get this returned from the XML Tab hope that helps.
-
nope even in ie now when adding or removing groups from the resources section i get internal server error also. i will set up logging and get you an error log.
-
yeah it is strange. usually the quirks that show up in Chrome usually show up in firefox with this kind of thing as IE is the odd one out. Not this time it seems though i am very suspicious that it may be this particular install of chrome that is strange. Just checking now. Nope i receive the same error when accessing it from home using chrome i get an internal server error when deleting an item using chrome in the resources section.

apologies for wasting your time. IT seems HAP doesn't like chrome. makes sense a MS technology not playing massively fair with another browser. using ie8 and all seems much better.

did not happen this time. so we are making progress, and by we i mean you while i mash the keyboard with my fists. Still receiveing and internal server error when attempting to remove items from the homepage config such as the email option. hitting the x causes and internal server error popup when trying to delete one of the resources. sorry to keep bothering you like this.

unfortunately still receiving the error. also noticed that there are red X's by IIS6 Wildcard Mapping: X Services Activated: X App_Data Write Accss: X i'm guessing this is causing problems. follow install to the letter twice. still having that problem though with not found pop-up.

legend. i shall try today and let you know later.
-
what problem did you have with .net ? i've still got the problem.
-
did this work for you as i'm getting the exact same problem. restarting now will let you know if it works for me.

Sometimes i fail pretty Hard. I Joined it to the domain in 2 different places and didn't realise there would be a radio button to change also if i wanted AD authentication. Checking it now to see if it's working. yes its the setting i missed. top on.

Yay for ressurecting an old thread. IanT so did you have some input on how you fixed the fact that you new policy wouldn't apply as we are having a similar problem.

I understand that there have been a couple of other posts along similar lines, but none of them i have found have had an answer let alone an answer that says it cannot be done. hopefully the title says it all but is there a method/program/technique for adding the two week timetable to an outlook calendar but telling it to not count weeks where we are on holiday. if we don't account for it then the timetable is on the wrong week in the calendar whenever we have a holiday of an odd number of weeks. thanks

yeah you can sorry was me being an abosolute raasclaat. Left some uneeded items kicking about in the cfg file. thankyou again

Doing a fresh install of firefox 3.6.3 on a netbook is it possible to use the same method of creating a config file?
-
Deployed an MSI from macromedia "flash player 10 plugin for firefox" and everything is now working hunky dorey. I appreciate you doing the work so we don't have, so i can get back to answering teachers inane questions. thanks again your a hero.
-
Ok brilliant got it up and working did a reset on my profile and it seems to work on all the other test profiles i have tried. . Will i be needing to build a seperate package for flash for firefox?
-
I get you so your thinking maybe if your logged on elsewhere it may prevent you from opening ff at that particular pc due to the roaming profile.? I shall give it a go.
-
Ok I may try 3.5.7 when I get back then. Do you mean a new ff profile. Would thy mean allocating a profile at each station? Or am I wing special.
-
Yeah I checked an there is no firefox process running in task manager which I thought was odd, and it's not like I hve already tried opening it and got impatient and clicked again as it happens the first time you try and open it. Baffled

I have just tried deploying your 3.6 MSI on an RM CC3 network following your instructions and unfortunately when i go to run firefox after deploying it, even as an admin i get the "Firefox is already running issue" i was wondering whether you had seen this before or have any idea what might be causing it? thanks Matt
