Dos_Box Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 How did I miss this? ALDI - Thursday Special Buys 25th March 2010 Especially the 21" full HD touchscreen display!! http://aldi.co.uk/uk/media/offers/01_10_week_12/Product_detail_Wk12T4.jpg I'm just off out for a bit..........
ZeroHour Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 I probably wouldnt it unless I knew it was 7 compatible and the fact lets face it touch is pretty useless for most day to day work tasks.
fafster Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Would be interesting to hear some people's experiences with it. Sounds like a nice little tool for key stage 1 and below.
Dos_Box Posted March 25, 2010 Author Posted March 25, 2010 I do need a film scanner though. And some beans.
LeMarchand Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 I wish I had the money for the display (though mine is fairly new, so it would be a bit wasteful to replace it already). I'm off to get the HDD after work, though. I know it's not the cheapest but by home PC is a Medion and it will fit really nicely in the bay at the top.
laserblazer Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 I read somewhere that a family of 4 could save over £3000 a year by shopping at Aldi rather than ASDA.

Dos_Box Posted March 25, 2010 Author Posted March 25, 2010 I read somewhere that a family of 4 could save over £3000 a year by shopping at Aldi rather than ASDA. We do our 'tin and pasta' shop at Aldi, and all fresh stuff at Booths (a rather nice supermarket chain based in teh NW). We spend £40 buying what would have cost us £70+ elsewhere, and TBH, their beans, and other tinned goods are perfectly fine. Who needs a choice of 8 types of baked bean?
Mcshammer_dj Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 I read somewhere that a family of 4 could save over £3000 a year by shopping at Aldi rather than ASDA. not if the average family was Dos_box's family with all that IT kit waiting there for him..LOL........
Dos_Box Posted March 25, 2010 Author Posted March 25, 2010 not if the average family was Dos_box's family with all that IT kit waiting there for him..LOL........ Food is for losers!
AyatollahPies Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Just bought the Medion Wireless USB hub from there this morning. (£40) Very impressed with it so far. Never had any issues with Medion products.

SC-UK Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 I'm off to get the HDD after work, though. Good luck. Anytime the stores around here have anything like that in, there's people queuing before opening time and a mad rush to get the 10/20/30 units usually allocated to each store unfortunately.
AyatollahPies Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Is it 'n'? It is :-) You can share upto 4 USB devices from it. Just what I've been looking for.
NikChillin Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 I read somewhere that a family of 4 could save over £3000 a year by shopping at Aldi rather than ASDA. Or Tesco, sainsbury's and Morrisons! I like to keep an eye on prices and you can save a lot, (I know I'm sad!)
soveryapt Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Darn it, why is pay day a week off still?! lol ..
WStore_Dan Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 I read somewhere that a family of 4 could save over £3000 a year by shopping at Aldi rather than ASDA. SAVE £3000 per year? Thats a £250 a month saving, crazy! How much does a family of 4 spend on shopping each month then?
LeMarchand Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 (edited) Good luck. Ours varies - sometimes it's like that and others the kit is there for weeks. If they're out it's not a biggie; I don't desperately need the drive yet and they do a 1.5TB one in Germany which I'm guessing will be on their next round of PC kit. tech_guy Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 The wireless Hub looks interesting. I might pop by my local Aldi tonight and see if they have any left.
tech_guy Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 We're a family of three and we easily spend £600 a month and we're not extravagant in our eating habits.
patty04 Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 It is :-) You can share upto 4 USB devices from it. Just what I've been looking for. is that an ethernet port on the back?
uk101man Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Video of said monitor [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Chaj1aabftA]YouTube- Medion touchscreen (akoya x54000 MD 20165 multi-touch Full HD monitor)[/ame]
AyatollahPies Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 is that an ethernet port on the back? Yep, 10/100. Shame it isn't 10/100/1000, but then it is only £40 and I bought it for the wireless functionality. Quick overview for those interested: W-LAN: 802.11 b/g/n Encryption: WEP 64/128, WPA-PSK / WPA2-PSK, WPS Connectivity: 4x USB 2.0 ( 1xfront, 3x rear ) 1 x RJ45 10/100 Mbit/s, 1 stereo audio output (3.5mm jack) Ooh, it has a stand too
patty04 Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 hmmm i could use that for my 360 instead of buying a 360 wireless adapter. the audio out, i wonder if that works like the apple air port extreme
