mattx Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Me want content aware fill NOW NOW NOW !! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NH0aEp1oDOI]YouTube- Content-Aware Fill Sneak Peek[/ame] 1
elsiegee40 Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Oh me too! That's fantastic! I thought removing the road was good, but the panoramic sky was veryimpressive!
gibbo_ap Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 apparently features like this have been in gimp for years
DMcCoy Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 I've no doubt content aware fill will be incompatible with networks
BandyQuill Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 nooooooooooo that cant be real... can it... wow... !!!
Pete10141748 Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Nice! It seems to handle very well, and the production of a random spot of desert instead of the road was damn impressive.
Domino Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Wow, reminds me of the removal options in combustion, but thats for video (and damn amazing if anyone gets to see it in action.) Thats certainly fantastic - but photoshop is a dangerous tool in the wrong hands....
3s-gtech Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 That progress bar is actually charting the time it takes to upload it to a group of super-PS monkeys who fix the image, then send it back. It can't possibly be done by the software! 1
laserblazer Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 I've no doubt content aware fill will be incompatible with networks It's Adobe isn't it?
dayzd Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 That's properly awesome, but my problem is I won't want to use it. For some reason I seem to get more satisfaction from doing things 'the hard way'. And when I say 'satisfaction', I mean 'relief' that I've finally completed something after the inevitable hours of fiddling and frustration. WYSIWYG web editors are a good example, as is software like iMovie. I like to make my code/transitions by hand, thanks very much! (Even if using a preset or other automatic method gives better results.) Something tells me I would use something as easy as that, though!
dayzd Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 (edited) Ooh, and just think what this'll do to all those people who think that they can 'do' Photoshop because they can use layer styles... They'll think they're van Gogh (even more than they currently do)! Edited March 25, 2010 by EduTech language
CHR1S Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Anyone know of any beta builds knocking round for erm "testing compatibility" lol
BandyQuill Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 had a look about and i cant find anything anywhere yet looks like theres a while to go yet
Tunster Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Anyone know of any beta builds knocking round for erm "testing compatibility" lol I'm sure the Adobe testing team has had fun enhancing naughty bits!
Guest Biccies Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 That's crazy!! Especially on that panoramic view, How the hell did it decide what to put in that massive void?! and it looked so natural as well!
CHR1S Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Photoshop's CAF (content-aware fill) - unbelievable? Not quite. - the real Uqbar
JJonas Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 What version of Windows is needed for CS5? Will it support XP?
elsiegee40 Posted March 25, 2010 Posted March 25, 2010 Teenage son has informed me, somewhat optimistically, that his birthday is not long after the release... I think it'll be a bit out of our price-range!
dhicks Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 Me want content aware fill Finally, we seem to be getting ever-closer to the zoom-and-enhance capabilities in image software that've been demonstrated for years in TV and film. This is going to be a big boon to jilted lovers everywhere - no need to take the scissors to those framed snaps of you and your ex, simply Photshop them out and paste in your new flame. -- David Hicks
soveryapt Posted May 11, 2010 Posted May 11, 2010 I can confirm (having just installed the CS5 Master Collection which arrived today!! WHOOP!) that Photoshop CS5 does indeed use WitchCraft!! lol .. WOW!! Doing that used to take a degree of skill! lol ..
mattx Posted May 11, 2010 Author Posted May 11, 2010 Agreed, I was using it today - and for a laugh just highlighted various parts of photos and was gob smacked at the content aware fill. Making 'spot the difference' photos for my kids now won't require hours of editing !!
