Laptop Power Socket - Where can I find one?

Could any of you suggest a supplier that would be able to sell me one of these?

I've got a Sony Vaio laptop here with a broken socket (centre-pin knackered - see pic) and I can find a replacement socket on eBay, which is all well and good but our finance people don't do eBay :(

Any suggestions who could supply it? I don't need the full assembly just the socket, as I'm fairly handy with a soldering iron.

Thanks

How much is it on eBay? :) If it's not too much couldn't you purchase it and claim it back from the school and they pay you back?

Just curious, I have had to do it in the past myself

What model Sony Vaio is it?

It's a VGN-BX51VN.

I suppose I could get it from ebay and ask for petty cash... it's only £4 or something.

He likes the old keyboard's ;) i remember from an older thread.

I didn't realise my love for old keyboards had gained such notoriety.

My colleagues are not so sure about the keyboard, it's not so much how it looks it's the decibels that they don't like!

As above - if you're handy enough to do it yourself, ebay. £4 almost seems a bit steep - sure last time I ordered some for our Acers it was less than a £1 including postage! For that price, I didn't even bother claiming back.

Bit too specialised for Maplin. Although I suppose it could be worth checking CPC/RS/Rapid although their "handling charge" might make it pricey even if they do it.

That keyboard looks pretty oldish!

I would guess that its a Dell Keyboard from the mid 90's myself and if it is it will be PS2 and have the DELL logo in the top left corner of it.....

As for the socket, ebay is my friend I've had one or two from there in the past.
