Had a HTC Touch Diamond and now have an iPhone, I'm sticking with iPhone for potentially life now as it's by far and large a much better device (for me) than the HTC ever was.

I have a HTC Touch 3G and have a few problems with it. - The camera quality is shocking and the handset itself randomly freezes and locks up.

Looking to move to an iPhone shortly.

Depends what you use it for, I have used several HTC's over the years and will always go that route over Apple regardless of what people say.

Does exactly what I need it to, social networking, makes calls and texts (surprisingly!) and good widgets and apps you can download for free from the Android store.

Currently using a blackberry Curve 8310, does everything I want Calls, Texts, E-mail.

I want to be able to use something for my e-mails mainly as I get loads during the day and like to be able to reply on the move.

I have heard better reviews on the Iphone than HTC, which is what i was thinking of going with. but just wanted ot see what people thought who had used them before.

I couldn't comment on Blackberry as I've never used one but it was a close call between Blackberry and HTC on my contract renewal. Had to go with a brand new release which was the Tattoo at the time. Else I'd of gone Blackberry.

One or the other for me!

I had a HTC Diamond on my old contract and I had to send it off for repairs 3 times - other than that I had no problems with it. I upgraded to an iPhone 3Gs at the end of Feb and I must say I am very pleased with it. The speed is very good, screen is responsive and you can get an app to turn it into an electric ocarina!

Would never choose a blackberry as a personal phone myself.

Use them for work, and they're great for business use, but the apps, UI and settings menus are all awful.

I had a HTC touch, which was great except for when windows mobile was being, well, windows mobile.

Now on an iPhone, and its great, does everything I want and more. Plus the UI is gorgeous, and media support is far better than the blackberrys and the web browser is simply the best mobile browser I've ever used (blahblah flash support whinge moan).

I'd say go in store and try each...the UI needs to be what you fall in love with, as you're going to be interacting with it every time you use your phone

Probably referring to me there.

But yeah - I've got a 3Gs, and comparing it to the Hero, I can see positives and negatives to both. Personally I'd go with the iPhone. The keyboard is that little bit nicer, and I don't like the chin that the Hero has, but I doubt you can go wrong with either. Battery life on both is similarly bad (you won't forget to charge it at night more than once!) Media is similar on both, with apps for flickr, facebook, emails etc. I think the Hero has a more customisable home screen, iPhones need jailbreaking to unlock similar features. As said - go into a store and play!

Think, i may be going for the Iphone if I can get a decent contract. O2 do a 600 min, unlimited texts and unlimited internet for £35 with the Iphone for £179.99 which is the 32gb one aswell. might try bargaining with them aswell tho.

let me know how you get on with that. I tried bargaining with them but they just wouldn't budge on the price. Grrrr  Edited by sonic1485

Personally if I had to choose a phone available at the moment I would say an Iphone 3GS

But...

It's gonna be a busy year for mobile phones what with the iPhone 4G, Nexus One(Android OS) and Windows Phone OS 7 all just about the hit the market (Summer/Autumn) I personally would hang onto you current handset until they're out and you can make a choice then cause whatever you pick now you'll probaby be stuck with for the next 2 years!

I have a Nexus One i sold my iphone 3g to get it and haven't looked back far superior in spec the only + the iphone has is the app store but certainly not a deal breaker as i don't need an app for everything in my life and the android store has most stuff covered. Android all the way!!!!
