What I want to know is where is her black t-shirt, jeans and stressed look? Also the acessories should be a battered black laptop (with various geek stickers on the lid), pizza box and jailbroken iPhone or other device with an XDA Developers custom ROM.

Seems they forgot practicality as part of the job of IT. As mentioned in the article, that hair would be a nightmare - I had 2 foot long hair at one point, and having it in anything other than a ponytail when working was simply impossible. Hair draping on a motherboard, or over a dismantled printer?

 

What about the part where tech people have to go crawling around under desks? With stylish, expensive clothes I know I'd not want to.

 

No, it seems this is actually some sort of propaganda piece to try and make IT look like it isn't. They say people think of IT as a boring career? Well, a lot of it is! What's wrong with that? What's wrong with the fact that most women wouldn't consider it as their career choice? Much like most men wouldn't consider many careers populated mostly by women. There's no need to try and dress up the industry I don't think.

Oh dear - I shouldn't tell you guys what I wear for work. Oh hell, why not - let's challenge a stereotype! I wear a skirt suit 9 days out of 10, and at least 2" stillettos. I have no problems in crawling under desks in that get up, and not flashing my backside to the world in the process... I do agree with the comments about her stupid hair though - mine's short, so no issues there

As for getting dirty - mine's a cheap suit that gets thrown into the wash when required, and hair and skin do wash quite well

Nah, it was superglue that was developed for sticking skin back together (in Vietnam I seem to recall, but no doubt someone will correct me.....) It works fine for me Besides, insulation tape falls off too easily - ductape anyone?
