MRBS: Can't get my periods
truslack replied to chrisjako's topic in Network and Classroom Management
It's been a while since I set up an MRBS install, but this should do what you want it to do: /******************* * Calendar settings *******************/ // Note: Be careful to avoid specify options that displays blocks overlaping // the next day, since it is not properly handled. // This setting controls whether to use "clock" based intervals (FALSE and // the default) or user defined periods (TRUE). If user-defined periods // are used then $resolution, $morningstarts, $eveningends, // $eveningends_minutes and $twentyfourhour_format are ignored. $enable_periods = True; // TIMES SETTINGS // -------------- // These settings are all set per area through MRBS. These are the default // settings that are used when a new area is created. // The "Times" settings are ignored if $enable_periods is TRUE. // Resolution - what blocks can be booked, in seconds. // Default is half an hour: 1800 seconds. $resolution = (60 * 60); // DEFAULT VALUE FOR NEW AREAS // If the following variable is set to TRUE, the resolution of bookings // is forced to be the value of $resolution, rather than the resolution set // for the area in the database. $force_resolution = FALSE; // Default duration - default length (in seconds) of a booking. // Defaults to (60 * 60) seconds, i.e. an hour $default_duration = (60 * 60); // DEFAULT VALUE FOR NEW AREAS // Start and end of day. // NOTE: The time between the beginning of the last and first // slots of the day must be an integral multiple of the resolution, // and obviously >=0. // The default settings below (along with the 30 minute resolution above) // give you 24 half-hourly slots starting at 07:00, with the last slot // being 18:30 -> 19:00 // The beginning of the first slot of the day (DEFAULT VALUES FOR NEW AREAS) //$morningstarts = 9; // must be integer in range 0-23 //$morningstarts_minutes = 0; // must be integer in range 0-59 // The beginning of the last slot of the day (DEFAULT VALUES FOR NEW AREAS) //$eveningends = 15; // must be integer in range 0-23 //$eveningends_minutes = 05; // must be integer in range 0-59 // Example 1. // If resolution=3600 (1 hour), morningstarts = 8 and morningstarts_minutes = 30 // then for the last period to start at say 4:30pm you would need to set eveningends = 16 // and eveningends_minutes = 30 // Example 2. // To get a full 24 hour display with 15-minute steps, set morningstarts=0; eveningends=23; // eveningends_minutes=45; and resolution=900. // This is the maximum number of rows (timeslots or periods) that one can expect to see in the day // and week views. It is used by mrbs.css.php for creating classes. It does not matter if it // is too large, except for the fact that more CSS than necessary will be generated. (The variable // is ignored if $times_along_top is set to TRUE). $max_slots = 60; // PERIODS SETTINGS // ---------------- // The "Periods" settings are ignored if $enable_periods is FALSE. // Define the name or description for your periods in chronological order // For example: // $periods[] = "Period 1" // $periods[] = "Period 2" // ... // or // $periods[] = "09:15 - 09:50" // $periods[] = "09:55 - 10:35" // ... // is used to ensure that the name or description is not wrapped // when the browser determines the column widths to use in day and week // views // // NOTE: MRBS assumes that the descriptions are valid HTML and can be output // directly without any encoding. Please ensure that any special characters // are encoded, eg '&' to '&', '>' to '>', lower case e acute to // 'é' or 'é', etc. // NOTE: The maximum number of periods is 60. Do not define more than this. unset($periods); // Include this line when copying to config.inc.php $periods[] = "Period 1"; $periods[] = "Period 2"; $periods[] = "Period 3"; $periods[] = "Period 4"; $periods[] = "Dinner"; $periods[] = "Period 5"; $periods[] = "Period 6"; $periods[] = "Evening"; // NOTE: The maximum number of periods is 60. Do not define more than this. // Page refresh time (in seconds). Set to 0 to disable $refresh_rate = 600; // Trailer type. FALSE gives a trailer complete with links to days, weeks and months before // and after the current date. TRUE gives a simpler trailer that just has links to the // current day, week and month. $simple_trailer = TRUE; -

Yes, that's why I asked you which config file you were changing. -

Change the lang.en file to get rid of the text in the top left, and which file are you changing the config in? -
Italc 1.0.11 is now out - I think this bug is fixed.
-
Any chance of a screenshot of the error? 1.0.9 is generally very stable.

Any computer here that is missing parts of the front panel (below the floppy drive, so metal chassis is visible) gets failed by the external PAT testers, as do laptops with keys missing (so the keyboard button contacts are visible) http://i177.photobucket.com/albums/w215/impreza_2007/Uploads%20via%20Pixelpipe/attachment-HYGXFV.jpg What would we do without hot glue?

I know they're not like for like, I was just pointing out that moderating is not needed in all circumstances. The system does not apply to Edugeek as it does to the bike forum. (the karma for spelling/swearing does work though!)
-
You could say that, yeah. Only 2 threads have been moved this year though. I suppose the karma is akin to automatic moderation, but a user would have to constantly be breaching rules for it to step in and ban them.
-
Bike Chat Forums : The largest independent UK motorcycle chat forum It's very surprising how well the system works - a custom made Karma system takes into account spelling, swearing, post length, what forums people post in, how regular people are etc and increases a users karma accordingly. Members rate posts + or -, which again alters the karma a user has. New members are forced to spell check posts before they are submitted until their karma increases a bit. Members with high negative karma ("red blobs") gets auto-banned. In serious cases, a thread will be moved to "Fights and flamewars", people who post in this forum get hit hard on the karma.
-
66k, a large proportion of which are actually active.
-
I'd have to disagree with that. One of the bike forums I go on DOES have moderators, but nothing is ever deleted or edited, and the forum is pretty much self moderating - and it's one of the best forums I've ever come across.

General thoughts on Internet adverts - block or not?
truslack replied to Ric_'s topic in General Chat
LGFL/CLEO have recently started blocking most ads, and even though I have edugeek in my list of sites for adblock to allow (it's pretty much the only one in that list) I get the sad face every time I load the forums -
I do a fair bit of camping - generally enjoy it and get a decent nights sleep whatever the weather. I'm heading off up to the lakes, then on to scotland this summer with my bike and sidecar. I'll be taking a solo tent, a tarp (to rig as a basha), bivvy bag and hammock. The tent stays packed in a sidepouch on my bergen (it's tiny) and whilst it only has a hydrostatic head of 1500mm, I have yet to have it leak - even in gales with extremely heavy rain. I prefer just bivvying though - especially when roughing it in woods.
-
It's worth remembering that there are also 2 different fitments of H4, which are NOT compatible with each other.

iTalc - shared Master computer with multiple users
truslack replied to jmacavali's topic in Network and Classroom Management
In my iTalc installation (Roughly 400 PCs across 30 or so classrooms) I have the startmenu shortcut pointing to a batch file, which selects the correct room and copies the right config file into the users application data folder, then launches italc: @echo on echo %COMPUTERNAME% if not exist "%USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Italc\personalconfig.xml" COPY "\\server2\apps\italc\Config Files\PC\personalconfig.xml" "%USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Italc\personalconfig.xml" if %COMPUTERNAME:~0,2%==F5 goto F5 if %COMPUTERNAME:~0,2%==F6 goto F6 if %COMPUTERNAME:~0,2%==F7 goto F7 if %COMPUTERNAME:~0,2%==B1 goto B1 if %COMPUTERNAME:~0,2%==M5 goto M5 if %COMPUTERNAME:~0,2%==C1 goto C1 if %COMPUTERNAME:~0,2%==T1 goto T1 if %COMPUTERNAME:~0,2%==T2 goto T2 if %COMPUTERNAME:~0,6%==DT-MAC goto T3 if %COMPUTERNAME:~0,2%==S1 goto Sci if %COMPUTERNAME:~0,2%==S2 goto Sci if %COMPUTERNAME:~0,2%==S3 goto Sci if %COMPUTERNAME:~0,2%==S4 goto Sci if %COMPUTERNAME:~0,2%==S5 goto Sci if %COMPUTERNAME:~0,2%==S6 goto Sci if %COMPUTERNAME:~0,2%==C5 goto Eng if %COMPUTERNAME:~0,2%==F1 goto F1 if %COMPUTERNAME:~0,9%==TCH-LAP08 goto F1 if %COMPUTERNAME:~0,3%==INC goto Inc if %COMPUTERNAME:~0,3%==LDC goto LDC if %COMPUTERNAME:~0,5%==STUDY goto Lib if %COMPUTERNAME:~0,5%==ICT-0 goto Admin if %COMPUTERNAME:~0,5%==ICT-T goto Admin if %COMPUTERNAME:~0,5%==ICT-M goto Admin if %COMPUTERNAME:~0,5%==SS-01 goto Admin echo msgbox"iTALC is not configured for this room">a.vbs&a.vbs&del a.vbs Goto End :F5 mkdir "C:\Documents and settings\%USERNAME%\Application Data\Italc\" xcopy "\\server2\apps\italc\Config Files\F5\globalconfig.xml" "%USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Italc\" /Y /C goto launch :F6 mkdir "C:\Documents and settings\%USERNAME%\Application Data\Italc\" xcopy "\\server2\apps\italc\Config Files\F6\globalconfig.xml" "%USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Italc\" /Y /C goto launch :F7 mkdir "C:\Documents and settings\%USERNAME%\Application Data\Italc\" xcopy "\\server2\apps\italc\Config Files\F7\globalconfig.xml" "%USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Italc\" /Y /C goto launch :B1 mkdir "C:\Documents and settings\%USERNAME%\Application Data\Italc\" xcopy "\\server2\apps\italc\Config Files\B1\globalconfig.xml" "%USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Italc\" /Y /C goto launch :M5 mkdir "C:\Documents and settings\%USERNAME%\Application Data\Italc\" xcopy "\\server2\apps\italc\Config Files\M5\globalconfig.xml" "%USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Italc\" /Y /C goto launch :C1 mkdir "C:\Documents and settings\%USERNAME%\Application Data\Italc\" xcopy "\\server2\apps\italc\Config Files\C1\globalconfig.xml" "%USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Italc\" /Y /C goto launch :T1 mkdir "C:\Documents and settings\%USERNAME%\Application Data\Italc\" xcopy "\\server2\apps\italc\Config Files\T1\globalconfig.xml" "%USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Italc\" /Y /C goto launch :T2 mkdir "C:\Documents and settings\%USERNAME%\Application Data\Italc\" xcopy "\\server2\apps\italc\Config Files\T2\globalconfig.xml" "%USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Italc\" /Y /C goto launch :T3 mkdir "C:\Documents and settings\%USERNAME%\Application Data\Italc\" xcopy "\\server2\apps\italc\Config Files\T3\globalconfig.xml" "%USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Italc\" /Y /C goto launch :Sci mkdir "C:\Documents and settings\%USERNAME%\Application Data\Italc\" xcopy "\\server2\apps\italc\Config Files\Sci\globalconfig.xml" "%USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Italc\" /Y /C goto launch :Lib mkdir "C:\Documents and settings\%USERNAME%\Application Data\Italc\" xcopy "\\server2\apps\italc\Config Files\Library\globalconfig.xml" "%USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Italc\" /Y /C goto launch :Inc mkdir "C:\Documents and settings\%USERNAME%\Application Data\Italc\" xcopy "\\server2\apps\italc\Config Files\Inc\globalconfig.xml" "%USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Italc\" /Y /C goto launch :LDC mkdir "C:\Documents and settings\%USERNAME%\Application Data\Italc\" xcopy "\\server2\apps\italc\Config Files\LDC\globalconfig.xml" "%USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Italc\" /Y /C goto launch :F1 mkdir "C:\Documents and settings\%USERNAME%\Application Data\Italc\" xcopy "\\server2\apps\italc\Config Files\F1\globalconfig.xml" "%USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Italc\" /Y /C goto launch :Eng mkdir "C:\Documents and settings\%USERNAME%\Application Data\Italc\" xcopy "\\server2\apps\italc\Config Files\Eng\globalconfig.xml" "%USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Italc\" /Y /C goto launch :Admin mkdir "C:\Documents and settings\%USERNAME%\Application Data\Italc\" xcopy "\\server2\apps\italc\Config Files\Global\globalconfig.xml" "%USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Italc\" /Y /C xcopy "\\server2\apps\italc\Config Files\Global\personalconfig.xml" "%USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Italc\" /Y /C goto launch :launch if not exist "C:\Program Files\Italc\Italc.exe" echo msgbox"This is not a teacher computer, so you cannot use iTALC">a.vbs&a.vbs del a.vbs if exist "C:\Program Files\Italc\Italc.exe" start "" "C:\Program Files\Italc\Italc.exe" taskkill /F /IM "launch italc.exe" :end exit -

It was quite obvious from the start, that it was just a poll to see where he was most popular and didn't have any official ties with the tour - it just got blown out of proportion. -

I had an 8GB 3G with a completely smashed screen, and in general tatty condition - it sold for £186 on ebay.

I can't believe you'd ruin good whisky by adding coke to it! Generally start with bitter or ale, then move onto grouse later on in the night.
