We use a 50/50 mix of isopropyl alcohol and distilled water.

Apply using cotton wool pads, keep going until clean, then polish dry with a dry pad.

You chemistry dept's suppliers catalogue will have the isopropyl and they'll probably have a still for distilling the water. We've been on the same bottle of isopropyl for about 3 years.

Foam cleaner seems to work for me. Not sure if it's supposed to be used on them, but it seems to do the job and leaves a smeer free finish.

That's a coincidence. I use a 50/50 mix of IPA and cider vinegar to clear my ears after swimming. :)

All of our LCDs are AG Neovo hard-fronted ones, so we just use a single squirt of Mr Muscle Window & Glass cleaner and a soft cloth.

I'd heard a story, probably a myth, that a hard screen had shattered in a classroom and injured a pupil.

I think there was a thread on here a while back with a shattered one - don't think anyone was injured thou.
