what do you recommend for my pc

Hello all,

 

My work have gave me a computer for my home use they are wiping it at the moment in the config room and they have asked me if there is anything specific i want on there...... I thought I would consult the EduGeek members first before I make a final decision :-) what do you recommend folks....

Win 7, Office as said. Everything else you can find free versions for pretty much! Unless you do any design work for work (think that makes sense) in which case ask for a copy of whatever you use for that too!

Whatever they will give you free and correctly and fully licensed but windows & office for a basic start is good, depending on what you want to use it for - photo editiing, gimp or paint.net, video editing? etc...

I know some licenses have provision for copies to be used off-site - I'm looking at a site license to purchase soon whcih would give me 500 on site and 50 offsite for staff (and possibly select 6th formers).

You could always ask them for a 23" screen or 2 as they would be easier on the eyes than a 17" one
