gshaw Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 For those of you using GoDaddy for SSL certificates, how did you get your order to them? Seems like that's the cheapest way for us to get a recognised SSL cert after the ipsCA problems recently. Thing is we can only order via PO but the site seems to be all web \ credit card based?
AIT Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 i would stay well away if your a school. we have had great difficulty getting them to process our sertificate request. over 3 months and on the 10th atempt.
RobFuller Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 ipsCA are sorting there problems out, quick phone call to them sorted out the issues I was having. Once there CA cert are distributed to Firefox and Safari things will be up and running again. Though I do think they could of handled it better!

john Posted January 12, 2010 Posted January 12, 2010 I've orderd through godaddy and still getting them to manually verify it as they cannot verify our Whois due to it not being right (its weird it fails everytime for everyone!), did a webpage for them and uploaded it to the server and no thats not good enough as it forwards the blinking domain to our .org.uk address so still waiting them, no emails i've got to phone them each time its as bad as dealing with IPSCA who STILL have not responded to my ticket from 2 weeks ago! As for how I paid, it was on the college purchase card

I have imported there new CA onto my server but I keep getting that annoying warning when people go onto my secure page. Did you managed to get past this? Ross

mb2k01 Posted January 13, 2010 Posted January 13, 2010 I ordered one for mail.school.la.sch.uk and had to do the verification for school.la.sch.uk instead of the subdomain. Got the certificate within a few hours of ordering. That might sound a bit smug, but I now have next to no idea what to do with it! If anyone has any idea how to get it in to Exchange 2010 feel free to PM me! (The GoDaddy instructions dont work and the powershell command isn't working either!) Grr!

KK20 Posted January 14, 2010 Posted January 14, 2010 I paid on CC for godaddy then got the cash from petty cash (via our bursar of course). I was unable to use a PO with them after much communcation. I have been badgering our school to organise a paypal account - even if it needs to go through the bursars assistant to actually do the ordering. Ross- if you are still having issues, start a new thread and i'll help (save derailing this one).
