1. beauty voucher for her to have something done (she did ask for lippo suction but I think my future mother inlaw will have something to say about that!!)

 

2. Body shop stuff or some kind... will leave this to the ladies to sort out for me.

4. some Pandora things for her Pandora wrist band thingy ma bob

 

4. a large cuddly dog

 

5. hat, scarff and gloves (shes a community nurse)

 

then I need to get her some stocking fillers. for the stocking she strategically hung on the fireplace.

The Pandora thing is good

Perfume: only if you are SURE that there is one she actually likes or you really think you know her well enough to take a guess

Large cuddly dog - only if he has a label round his neck telling her that he is just for now until you get a real one. I know you said you had researched a dog but can I put a word in for an abandoned one? They really need a home and you can go to specific rescue centres if there is a breed you must have. Personally I have a mongrel (they live longer) and wouldnt be without him.

Body shop...hmmm... again only if it is her sort of thing. Not mine - got loads in the cupboard. What about some expensive make-up or face cream - it can be pretty pricey and would be more of a treat to me that some fruit flavoured bubble bath. Does she ever talk about make-up or cream? (or do you ever listen?) Can you sneak a look in her make-up bag, or better still, ask her best friend? In fact, that is always a good idea and actually gets you brownie points as it shows you are so concerned about getting the right thing.

Jewellery is always a winner - something she can wear always like a plain gold chain or neat gold earrings or a ring (thinking of her job - not big flashy stuff - unless she likes it).

Voucher - good idea (doubt you could afford liposuction anyway!).

 

What you are missing is a present specific to her, and not just a 'woman's gift'. There must be SOMETHING you could get her that would be just for her - jewellery with a stone that matches her eyes, or a book you know she wants, or a ticket to an event you know SHE will love (and if it is something that she knows you will go to with her but wouldnt chose for yourself, all the better).

Apparently the current one is broke (...in the same way a car seizes up after prolongued non-use?!) so I'm going to wrap it up for Xmas!

 

I'm going to present it as the only present she's getting and see what happens.... but don't worry - she's got lots of others really (bigger and better etc!)

I told the GF Xmas is cancelled till the house is bought. Only a few months to go now. She bought a few things for herself from me. Be the boss, that is the best present.

Ohhh where could you go with a gift.... here are some of the things I considered this year....

 

1. Ugg Boots - very popular - but don't go with the trend. Get the original ones 'Celt' from Sheepskin Footwear and Accessories from Celtic Sheepskin - the original Ugg Boot.

 

2. If she is young and trendy then the One Botton jewellery is very nice. one button jewellery » Necklaces, Bracelets, Rings, Earrings, Brooches - she is bound to like that

 

3. Perfume - I wouldn't buy the perfume or any makeup stuff. It's tough to do that when they are with you never mind when they are not.

 

4. Of course a hat, scarf and gloves is a safe bet but as Witch says many girls have this. Of course you could get her some ultra trendy stuff like Animal or Quicksilver - they do some nice sets

 

5. I'm sure every girl likes to laze in front of the TV on a cold night so some chunky socks are nice. Fat Face do a nice range.

most likely a long shot and not sure if she has one already but what about a digital camera or a nintendo ds lite ( you can get the game where you train the dog etc )

Too late know, but I recommend for next year you just ask her what she wants. Makes life so much easier. Guaranteed to be happy with it too.

 

You can of course still buy a few little surprises too.

 

Mind you, I'm not one for surprises whereas some folk are.
