Only teasing :-)

Although I've spent nearly 25 years in London I'm well aware that the best bits of the country are way north of here so I'll be spending Christmas and New Year in Lancaster, Northumberland and Liverpool.

PS - are you sure that there's anything south of London??? :-)

I believe Lancaster has very little snow mate, you need to come about 20 minutes west of Lancaster to the Yorkshire Dales as we have plenty

more snow over night. finally we got a better layer of snow. :D

Very pretty! :)

We got more in the night too. We've had about 8 inches in total since Thursday night. It's bright sunshine again now, but there's been no thaw since the snow on Friday.

Plenty more snow here today, wondering who gets the joy of telling the few full time staff who are in work next week that we are not going to open, seen as its usually whoever is first there opens up in the holidays

We drove up to Bucks today for the visit to the in-laws and so we at least got to see some snow.

Snow for us today, I got to work though, was interesting but we made it, decided to shut site at lunch time though as its no point in staying as nothings moving, external contractors have cancelled etc so its best to abandon all hope as it were and shut up shop. Took some nice photos of the local town though:

What are the airports doing in your region. I'm just praying that Easyjet have all their planes in the right places for our morining flight from Bristol and that we manage to get away this time.

Edit: Just looked at the Bristol Arrivals board and virtually all Easyjet flights due to arrive this afternoon have been cancelled. Some f the outgoing flights were cancelled as well but it's not looking good. :(

As for snow, it is getting closer - mrwITch left work at Fleet in Hants at 4.30 and isn't home yet due to snow on the M3. We have had a bit of sleet but that is all

We had 3\4 inches in Preston overnight. Kids school was shut (they were suposed to be in till Wednesday!), so took a half day. Thank God I have a 4x4 or else I proberbly never would have got off the estate! I don't think any of it has melted today as I've just been playing snowball fights with the kids in the back garden. Perfect snow it was too. Nice and fluffy yet compacts well into snowballs and snowmen :)

Sout ^H^H^H^H.. Northerners! ;b

We've had loads of crap for making snowmen but high quality sledging stuff starting last Friday.

It's been cold e.g. was still -5C at 9AM yesterday. The best bit in sprogette enchantment terms (next to a few near escape velocity downhill speeds) was the dusting of "magic" snow we got very early both Thu and Sat morning: 3- 5 mm flat/2-D reasonably perfect six pointed stars, with that fractal detail if you looked close. Kind of thing you get on some xmas cards, but I don't recall ever seeing for real
