K.C.Leblanc Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 Hate to be picky - but how do you know that's the plus model? Infact I'm pretty sure it isn't, think the Plus had a green power light. I'm currently running an Athlon 3700+, 1GB with onboard graphics . Due to the graphics it gets 1 on the Vista performance index (hense why I run XP).

fafster Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 Most of my files are stored on my 1TB NAS box Snap. I built a windows home server. It may need some more space soon, though, as I'm running out...

sonofsanta Posted December 11, 2009 Posted December 11, 2009 (edited) Just built my PC a couple of weekends ago, decided that as a network manager having a 5 year old home PC was just a disgrace Built to a budget else I'd have gone for i5 or i7, but platform costs are too much still, so I have: Phenom II X4 965 plugged into an Asus M4A79XTD Evo motherboard with 2x2GB Corsair XMS3 1333 9-9-9-24 DDR3 RAM next to an XFX Radeon 5770 1Gb @ 900/1400 playing games that run on a WD Caviar Black 640GB all snuggled into a Silverstone Temjin TJ06 holding an Antec Earthwatts 750W Modular PSU Windows 7 score turns out at 7.4 for all the parts (7.5 RAM) barring the HDD (@5.9, everyone's problem now?). Futuremark Vantage score was in the 9000's somewhere. Going to XFire another 5770 in a year or so's time when I have money again, hence the size of the PSU. That's also why it seems so unbalanced with CPU/GPU at the moment, I was going to get an X3 720 but they're going EOL everywhere and getting hold of them is a PITA. I do love it so much not the greatest PC ever, but for £640 it's a beauty. DiRT2 was running at top specs at 1680x1050 at 40-something FPS, and the Stalker Benchmark gives me silly numbers. Having upgraded from an old AMD64 @ 2GHz with an AGP 7300GT I'm very much appreciating the upgrade. ...however, part of me still longs for that Amiga 500. Probably the defining moment of my life, getting that machine, I wouldn't know most the stuff I know about computers now if I hadn't played with it so much as a child. Doubt I'd be doing this job and posting on this forum if not for that little beige beauty. Edited December 12, 2009 by sonofsanta Proper WEI scores
