@Big_Dave: Did you say you did not take the tick out of the Anonymous access box when you created the site?

This is required as the site uses impersonation based on the user who accesses the monitor, at the moment there is no anonymous access to the status display.

Have just deleted and re-created the website with the tick removed and that is indeed working. Thanks :)

Ideally I would have liked staff being able to access the status page anonymously, but it's no problem;l I'm guessing I can re-install v1.2 alongside it with a different name, for staff to access anonymously :)

Anon access to the status page is on the way however this will be a while as we are concentrating on the next release of the helpdesk which will have SmartMonitor integrated with it.

Hi ICTNUT,

I have noticed an error, don't know if its us or a global problem.

Add New Item button only works when using the servers tab, but didn't for me add a new item, seemed to add a blank row to the database though.

Stevo.

@Mullet_Man: I can confirm that the add new item button only works on the servers tab.

I have tested this and items added are being added correctly.

Looking at fixing this over the weekend and will post a fix up then for it.

I think I'm being a bit thick.

I've added a new website, it's under OP SmartMonitor in IIS. I'm confused as to what next?

I can go to http://intranet/opsm and it says 404 denied.

I've looked on the site at the instructions but being a Friday, it's going over my head.

I've set the host header as opsm.ourdomain.internal

Anyone who has the installed able to talk me through the final stages of installation, as that is where I got confused.

I created the CNAME but it just points to the intranet page.

I've just installed the latest one, very good indeed.

Question, how do I now change "OP SmartMonitor" on the main page to my school name, I was able to do that in the older versions

You need to make sure your CNAME points to your IP of your server hosting your page with the header of opsm.ourdomain.internal.

This is now set in the settings.asp file along with a host of other stuff to, like email notifcations etc.

Okay. So I have opsm.ourdomain.internal set as the host and the CNAME opsm with the FQDN as server-001.domain.internal.

Correct?

As long as server-001.domain.internal is the server hosting SmartMonitor then this is correct.

I used servmon.ourdomain.local

Our FQDN is servmon.ourdomain.local

and FQDN for tartget host is server.ourdomain.local

That seems to work for us. Also do you have the address lised as a proxy bypass?

Cool glad your working now!!

Its really handy this, esp good when you get a call about something thats the other end of school, you check if the wireless/printer is up.
