already pre-ordered it. Apple must have realised how much of a loss they were making by tying themselves to the smallest operator in the UK...

o2 Has largest market share in UK...

(Until Orange/T-Mobile merger goes through)

may have the largest share, but the lowest throughput, they have had to piggyback from Orange, TMobile and Vodaphone. However according to figures published last month, O2 has had the smallest growth in the past year compared to its competitors, even 3 has had more growth than O2.

Growth != Size

If you have largest market share, you are not the smallest operator.

Just as long as Apple don't do something retarded in future like making the next iphone exclusive to either carrier for X amount of time as that would just essentially be Apple sticking middle fingers up at "loyal" customers who've bought into the iphone ecosystem.

At least this will make o2 compete more now tho, the excuses for the raised price of the 3g/3gs this cycle were laughable.

I'm just waiting to see if they allow Vodafone them as well otherwise I will be getting either a Blackberry or HTC Magic when I redo my contract next year.

just come off the phone with orange premier (lovley ppl) the blackberry storm 2 will be out on orange soon ish and the iphone before xmas

it was going to be oct but now 'before xmas'

I find it funny tho; last week I was told categorically that it wouldn't be coming to orange, it was in the pipeline at one point but defiantly not any more.

O2 Coverage is far better :p than Orange :rolleyes:

It must depend on your location. For me I have my iPhone on O2 - and have never ever had a problem with signal strength or data access. Orange phones (used to have one for work), get absolutely no signal whatsoever in or around my house.

It's all down to location and what works best for you.

I've been on iphone with o2 from day one (although i did have a 4GB iphone 2G before it came to the uk) and wont be changing to orange. From the hastle that my misses had with orange when she was with them i'd avoid them like the plague. She too is now on iphone. It would be interesting to see that now with the added provider we might see some competing price cuts from both sides

They'll have a new one out by then. iPhone 7GS with built in tea making function.
