We have had our first case confirmed today, a year 8, School is remaining open and buisness as usual, also 2 of our local primaries we support each have a confirmed case....

Yep we have a confirmed case this afternoon, should I get the hazmat out or what?

Its getting silly now, we have had parents refusing to bring their kids because of 1 case of "Bird Flu" in their class!!

Personally I don't like anything like this, im not squeamish but a bit of a Health Concious person, the regular suff, gym, watching what I eat ect so when something like this comes along its not good!

 

Im not really too bothered about it as its just flu, but the fact that people have died from it without other health problems does worry me a little. Im all up for the jokes and stuff, I just hope were right to be mocking it, if not were guna have some very big problems! I'v read too many Dan Brown books lol!!

 

My 2 penneth anyway, im off to go de-contaminate!

I've not followed the whole thread; it may already have been written. The Spanish Flu of 1918 had similarities in that there was a mild variant through the spring and summer. Then in the winter it mutated... It killed more than the 1st World War.

We've had one here with "exposure" to it. Some staff seem off too.

 

I'm in theory "at risk" due to my health issues, and the missus is expecting in November..stressing about it? Nope. Worried a bit, yes, but...these things happen!

 

What will be will be, I'm not about to start living in fear - that's no life at all.

My 3 year old nieces nursery (of 6 kids) has had its forst case.

 

My niece was playing with the girl yesterday and her mum got a phone call last night saying the nursery has been shut because she has swine flu!!

 

Worrying really seeing as the symptoms don't show for 7 days after contracting the virus and my sister has a new born baby who has had no vaccines!!!

 

Also a 6 year old girl in a school local to here died two days after getting a sore throat! - I've got a sore throat!!

Two cases confirmed in school today

Just after all this started when all the cases here were people who had been to Mexico my son was really ill. Sore throat, sick, very very high temprature. The doc put it down to a virus. Now I wonder if he actually has this flu.

We've got it in other local schools, and rumours are going around about something here (only unconfirmed rumours though)...

 

I've pretty much accepted that if I get it, I've had it. I don't react well to Flu at the best of times anyway.

Of course, you have to remember that seasonal flu does kill as well.

What worries me is that they keep changing the advice.

At the beginning it was - get it, then there will be less chance in the autumn - but now they are saying that it won't help as the virus will mutate and having had the mild version will make no difference

We have confirmed cases here. Due to the diabetes and asthma in the IT dept, we are definitely thinking of that 'KEEP OUT' sign on the door
