I forgot I posted here - only found this when searching for Exchange 2010 lol.

Does anyone know the office release date? (Or at least the date it will be available to volume licensing customers?)

I'm pretty much at a crossroads production-wise. Existing Exchange 2003 server is aging fast, and now have the option to install on new hardware or even virtualise - but don't really want to use new hardware for 2003 enviroment, and would prefer not to move to 2007 only for 2010 to come out a few months down the line!

Yeah i would also hold out until 2010, it's not long now and you will be better of for it!

will be better for when you look at the other 2010 packages being released next yr :)

A couple of things that sound good

OWA (Outlook Web Access) support for Internet Explorer (IE) 7 and 8, Firefox 3, and Safari 3.

Exchange Server 2010 is light on wholesale changes and heavy on refinements. On top of noteworthy enhancements for Outlook users, new features also make the operator's life easier -- without introducing entirely new ways of doing things. So if the standby continuous replication feature in Exchange 2007 SP1 improved your operations, or you've been migrating your contractors' e-mail accounts from in-house Exchange 2007 servers to Exchange Online to reduce costs, you'll find much to like in Exchange 2010 as well.

haha - I must be the only one then.

I've managed to get hold of Exchange Server 2010 (RTM\Final) Installed it on a HP DL380 (I think), installed and configured it all, Console is alot better, more responsive, some new features, OWA is not called OWA now.............Outlook WebApp....................

Apart from that........thats it.

Enjoy! :D

Yeah, the RTM version is "out" on the web, tho naturally you should wait until MS officially releases it.

I'm *really* looking forward to it, I hate having to use IE to get the decent OWA interface so it'll be nice to finally be able to use firefox. It's a big boon for our remote mac users as well, given that it also works in Safari.

I love it so much I'd consider running it full time on a server at home :p

So OWA "Outlook Web Access" is now OWA "Outlook WebApp"? So is it still OWA then?

Yup :p

Has anyone used 2010 inside a virtual box?

Yes, works fine in vmware.

Has anyone found any backup options for Exchange 2010 yet? Currently not showing on backup exec (I'd like to have the ease of individual mailbox/folder/email recovery).

Cheers
